I failed to get the new US CCKW 6X6 at OTSN but found one for a "reasonable" price on eBay. Obviously it's much like the earlier version. The open rear bed is an excellent touch. You can go crazy stacking in extra troops and material back there. For accessories I got a short piece of wrought iron fence (in plastic) as well as a concrete road block and directional sign (with no directions or locations on it!). The truck came with a driver and three sitting figures. The rear bed is set up with the troop seats folded down. One also gets a couple boxes, some tarps and a couple jerrycans. A nice touch is also the optional top tarp that can cover the front 20% of the bed. There are top bows (the hoops that hold up the rear tarp) molded in place. The cab feels like diecast, the rear is plastic. The last FoV cargo truck that I bought had an all-plastic cab and personally I prefer plastic as it is easier to rework or customize, but that's just my opinion. Fov did the early "closed cab", which makes this applicable for the whole war. Overall a very nice model of a common truck. The British, French, and other Allies received these trucks also. The Marines preferred Internationals and the Russians had mostly Studebakers, but both received at least some GMC's, so repainters can have fun.
