It's October 23rd, and outside there's a blizzard raging.

That's part of the problem..the snowblower isn't ready for the season yet! Time to move the lawnmowers out of the way!

Pete, you obviously fail to appreciate the nuances involved in seasonal change. Here, about 4 hours north of you, the weather is wonderful. A sunny blue sky with 48 degrees and a crisp autumn feel to the air. This afternoon, I mowed the yard for the last time this year and used the leaf blower to clear out around the bushes and flowerbeds next to the house. I look forward to good old-fashioned white out just so I can make hot chocolate and watch an old movie on the Western Channel, or Turner Movie Network or AMC. I really love winter. Its why I live in Minnesota. That and the other seasons.

When they burn sugar cane on Maui, black ash falls downwind for miles from the burned field, which we call "Hawaiian snow". It does snow on the top of our mountain "Haleakala", maybe once every 3-years or so. Today its a hot and humid 87 degrees. I got the AC on today. :)

I actually got out the snow blower...we had about 3" on the ground. Crazy!

Last Sunday I watch the Patriots whip those Tennessee boys and was amazed to see the field was all white. Didn't seem to bother Brady and the rest of um. Still before the game I went apple picking, and noticed Canada geese chattering away as they flew south to warmer weather.

So if you don't have a plane ticket, just hunker down in your igloo, take good care of that wonderful wife of yours and watch the Vikings win and win and win ... :).

It snowed here too for the first time this morning. Didn't stay on the ground though. Actually, I think, I'm still in denial.:(

Have a nice weekend :)

Up here in northwest NJ, it's raining and going to rain all day. Give me Hawaii any time!
