I think this may interest some? (1 Viewer)

The reserve is not met a that price.
I understand many people like it, I for one do not care too much for it. I would think there are those who have been looking for one and might just pay more than the price already listed? I think I would like it without the base...others might say the base makes it...just my thought.

It would be nice without the base. WS057 doesn't have a base but unfortunatly, it doesn't let you take the wheels off.

That piece is a signature set among the retired K & C pieces, much sought after; that one and the winter version are both highly sought after.

It should easily go for north of a grand...........

Nail hit on head. This is top 5 most sought after piece, it was well done, the winter is even rarer.

Tom

In the best of times, it may have been around a grand but these aren't the best of times.

Both items are boxed...so it might do well?

How about $1200+ and $2000+ for the winter version!

And, yes we are currently not in that type of market!

Several "Big" collectors are currently liquidating their holdings!

Hey tastes change!

With this piece, I don't think the box matters. Hans Hedrich is selling the piece so I don't think he's liquidating his collection but selling an extra. Louis will tell you that Hans will have many of the same thing :)

Oh yeah
I ain't liquidating

One question regarding this sale. How did it go from $599 to the selling price of $900 with only one bid? At least that is what is showing on my ebay page.I'm not complaining about the money Hans got, just curious how the bidding ended this way.

I believe it had a reserve on it, so the person who bid, probably bid over that amount, say $1000, so ebay will bid up to the reserve price for you if your bid is high enough.

Tom

I believe $900 is not a crazy price for this (in toy soldier terms, however). This set has sometimes been expensive and sometimes not as expensive. I'm sure we'll see some sellers now trying to list it for that.

I don't know, with some of these rare sets once they get into the hands of

serious collectors they can dissapear from the marketplace.

I'm pretty serious.

...................................................................................................

Good, when you consider how limited some of the early pieces are, and the

number of collectors its a wonder some of these pieces become available at

all.
