Looks like another fun winter in NJ. Barbecuing on Christmas day, and Today I can't find my grill ! At least two feet of snow in Toms River. The drifts have covered everything on my patio.

We live more inland about 20 minutes west of Morristown and we didn't really get that much snow, 3 or 4 at the most. Thank goodness for that. The last time our snow plower was here in early 2010 he used a backhoe and partially pulled out the power lines.

We got 18 inches with 4 foot drifts in my driveway. It took me three hours to dig out this morning. I hate snow.

Around 12 " in Gloucester. My snow blower was in the shop but arrived just in time this A.M. as my neighbor's snow blower just died.

No more TV news with "Storm of the Century" for my daughter. She had two heart surgeries in late Oct and early Nov. (Thanks Harvard University trained cardiologists!) and feels fragile when the power is out or the roads are blocked. She's OK and the M.D.s say it is normal for heart patients to feel that way. Here the storm also caused damage to the coast line and some repairs that were made back in the "Blizzard of 78" were just undone.

I wish we got that 2ft of snow if the storm moved more inland. No...we dont really need that much but I like snow and going out and plow and shovel.:):D

Like you guys, we didn't BBQ on Christmas Day..... :(

with 39.9c AND a total fire ban on force, it was just too hot to go outside....... :(

after we got back from early morning church, we closed up the house to keep cool, turned on fans and then progressed to prepare out cold luncheon.

Our family Christmas luncheon consisted of Western Rock Lobster, Tiger Prawns, gourmet salads all washed down with fine cold Aussie Sparkling wine.. :)

Merry Christmas :) :)

John,What are the winter months in Australia and does it ever snow?

Mark,

its a BIG country... on the West Coast we get no snow.... but other parts do, like Tasmania and the mountains range along the eastern coast.

Winter for us is June to August, but we may get rain in April, but thats finished by November here.. unlike the other side where its still raining.

We have tropical forests, alpine grass, deserts, and eveything in between....

John
