Hi, all,

Has anyone ever heard of a series of 54mm kit figures or castings, called "Parade of History"?

In one of the Facebook groups I belong to, a collector showed a casting of Thomas a Becket, with a paper label that had printed on it, "(P)AR(A)DE OF HISTORY" (the letters in parentheses didn't print correctly) and "54 MM METAL FIGURE". Hand-written between those two lines is "Thomas a Beckett". Here is the photo:

No markings under the base, either.

I did a quick web search on "parade of history toy soldiers", "parade of history 54mm", "parade of history castings", but found nothing relevant. And a quick look in Garrett's "Encyclopedia" also turned up no article by that name.

I have a feeling it's some maker from the 60s or 70s, but the series name doesn't ring a bell.

Thanks in advance if anyone recognizes the brand!

Prosit!

I saw that one too Brad and it’s not a line I know either. Will have to do some digging.

I can't find it either even though it rings a bell so to speak. There were a number of kit makers I seem to come across "everyday" that I didn't know exist except finding the random one on ebay!

There probably were not many Thomas A Beckett figures made ,so I am assuming the maker should turn up?

Yeah, the subject makes me think it's from a British maker, but I don't know of any who had a series with that name.

It also reminds me of figures by Monarch, but I don't know that Benkert identified his figures with any but his Monarch brand.

We'll probably all have to dig through hard-copy archives to turn this one up.

Prost!
Brad
