Impact of 120 degree heat treatment on metal toy soldiers? (1 Viewer)

Hi.
I am getting my house treated for bugs using a heat treatment of 120 degrees over a 24 hour period.
My question is do I need to pack up my metal toy soldiers or is it safe to leave them in place?

120 is pretty warm. To be on the safe side, I’d move them. Hopefully you don’t have that many.

What is the melting temperature of lead ??????

Search on the web. Heat treatment for pests is 55oC or 130oF. The eutectic temp of tin lead solder is 183oC.

It should be safe.

It’s not the lead that I’d worry about but the paint.

The melting point of lead solder, typically a tin-lead alloy with a 63/37 ratio, is 183°C (361°F). But the paint on the soldiers will have gone for good way before that....
