imperial heritage series (1 Viewer)

It's great to hear that new sets for existing lines are still being created. The new British hussars are needed to go with the Lord Uxbridge figure. He's all by himself on a charging steed with no other cavalry to go with him.

I agree ,I just bought the Lord uxbridge figure the other day along with
Major Henry Percy [which i thought was a very elegant figure, if you can say that about toy soldiers].
I,ll post a photo when the hussars become available .

Hi Rob,

The photo backdrops were only used for sets Nos. 1 thru 6 and No. 8. They are fairly uncommon here in the states. You should try to pick them up while you can. I am fortunate to have found, after years of searching, all these sets with the photo backdrops. Kircaldies was the department store that David designed set No. 14, the 65th Regt. of Foot, 1860, for to celebrate their 120th anniversary. Uniquely, set No. 14 has the silver foil-like end label for the store.

Hi Mike
Thanks again for the info ,I havent yet got any of the early sets.
All The sets you mentioned sold on our local auction website about 6 months
back ,as imperial seemed to be getting hard to come by and my
own collection was fairly modest at that point, I didnt want to get into chasing them on the secoundary market so I let them go :(.

The main thing that concerns me buying thier figures secound hand is
the quality of the re packing job for shipment .
Their is a real artform in getting those figures back into their boxes that I for one havent yet aquired.

cheers Rob

Hi Rob,

You are exactly right! The Imperial figures are guaranteed not to remain in their slots during shipping. I always ask if the shipper would individually wrap each figure in bubble wrap and then put enough other packing material in the set's box so the figures can't move around. Alternatively, if the set has the small foam rubber piece that goes behind the figures AND the thick full sized piece that goes over them, they will not move out of their slots if the box is secured with rubber bands.

Best Regards,
