I thought I would post some photos of the Imperial sets I brought to the West Coaster to sell. They are all duplicates. I saw two other tables with Imperial sets, but neither had as many sets. I also got a chance to met Forum member and Imperial collector Mark (Yosmanos) from New Zealand. Enjoyed our conversations.

It was good to meet you too Mike. Hopefully I will turn up to a Chicago show one of these days.

Absolutely exquisite !! Can't beat 'em for quality painting and detail...I recently purchased the Dunedin Highland Rifle Volunteers from the OTSN auction for $129, including shipping....also, a mounted Coldstream Guards officer from the Crimean Campaign (will he soon be recalled for combat duty ??) for $50 at the East Coaster....

That is an impressive offering. I am glad I did not go to that show and spent my heating money ...^&grin

Thanks. Well, I am glad you weren't there, too. I would hate to think you were spending your heating money on toy soldiers.

Impressive selection of Imperial. I am curious, are the high quality glossies selling well ?

Thanks. As you are probably aware, glossy figures have some what been eclipsed by the 60mm matte producers. However, there still is a smaller market out there for glossies, especially high-end. I sold five Imperial sets at this year's show compared to five in 2013 and seven in 2012. I sell my early Imperial sets numbers one through ten at $200 each, Boer War and Zulu War sets at $125. There were at lease two other collectors selling smaller numbers of Imperial sets than I had; one had about ten Napoleonic sets which he was selling at $150 each. I almost bought them all for my collection, but thought better of it upon reflection. I believe that he did ultimately sell all of them.

Although this is an Imperial thread, I should mention that I brought three Trophy sets, two Napoleonic and one ACW, to sell. I sold all three to a gentleman from Spain on the first day of room trading. I also sold two Britains Collectors Club 7th Hussars Band sets.

Sounds like a fair but not a hot market for glossies. I worry that if my collection completely loses value I will have to melt down and make bullets

Its interesting that Glossies aren't doing as well in the states but over here in Europe at least from what I saw in London a while ago they were doing great and had a very solid market. I wonder why this is?
