On Monday December 12, a fellow co-worker of mine, NYPD Officer Peter Figoski was KILLED in the LINE OF DUTY by a MONSTER. He was a single DAD raising four daughters, ages 14 to 20. He was a 22 year Veteran of the NYPD. His wake is being held this weekend with his funeral on Monday at 11am. I ask all to keep him and his daughters in your thoughts and prayers during this Christmas season. Please take some time on Monday to remember a hero that will be deeply missed.image.jpg

Condolences to the family and friends of Officer Figoski and to the NYPD.

This is one of the saddest things I've heard about in a long time. My condolences and prayers to his family. -- Al

Ive been following this story on-line and it is a sad one.
My condolences to his daughters and extended family what a waste.

What a tragedy. My sincere condolences to you, all of his brother officers, and, especially his four young daughters.

I heard about this on a national bulletin yesterday while at work. From one law enforcement officer to another, know that he will be remembered for his long service. I will say a prayer for the family, as Officer Figoski's watch has come to an end.

It's very sad that it had to happen at this time of the year
There's really no good time for this to happen
Three years ago we burried my mother on december 22
I know what these four girls are going through
My deepest respect to the family

Sorry to hear for your loss Ranger, best of luck in dealing with it. A true hero in every sense of the word, serving in a thankless profession. His daughters, though deeply grieved at losing their father, will grow to be exceptional women in their own right as he led and raised by example.

Always remember them for how they lived, not how they died.

Deepest condolences,
CC

I'd like to THANK all who responded to my post. As a father of four young children myself and a 20 year NYPD vet myself, who will have to stay on past my retirement, Peter's death has been a hard pill to swallow. Any death of an Law Enforcement officer is tough to bare, but someone who could have left after 20 years is tough to handle. But Peter stayed the course for the sake of his daughters. He is a true hero who will be deeply missed by his fellow co-workers. We celebrated Peter's life by having a turn-out of over 15,000 Law Enforcement officers.

I want to wish all my fellow forum members a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday.
