Not being of the female genre I have never fully understood what all the fuss was about with Master Leo DiCap until Shutter Island where he did impress me a little to the point that I was close to saying Hey this guy can act afterall!
Loved that movie even though I had second guessed the "twist" an hour before the finale.

Caught his new outing last Friday evening primarily based on the above and the trailer for Nolan's new film being one of the most exciting things I've seen on screen for sometime. I left the viewing disappointed and confused. Without going into the detail of the plot-much too difficult to do that without committing a thousand words to this thread-Conclusion:-visually stunning-but no basic story although it has some hot zinging zero gravity fights and of course those amazing and much trailed folding cityscapes just as their dreams start to collapse. Save your bucks this one's a TV/DVD viewing and even then you wont fully grasp it.

Entertaining and visually creative. A good distraction from your mundane life or stress because you have to concentrate on the story line. Can't say it was one of the best movies but the reviews seem to be positive.
De Caprio impressed me in "The Departed" and "Blood Diamond" so I have to say I am a fan.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I too found it confusing and in a way boring although visually stunning like Bob did. Even if I wanted to describe the plot I don't think I could. The theoretical idea behind the movie though is interesting. Won't say more however.

It is visually stunning and an interesting premise. I also found the acting rather well done, with the exception of D'Caprio. Other than that it was a confusing mess to me. The endless and poorly justified automatic weapon battles were just plain tedious. I must admit, I wish Hollywood would learn something about the magazine capacities and effective firing patterns for those weapons. Better still, how about limiting their use to no more than once a movie. When they are used like they were here, they just come off silly, as did their use in Avatar. Hopefully someday the current generation of directors will learn that hyped up sound and jumbled and overcut / underfocused repetitive action is simply boring. I keep looking at my watch and hoping it would get to some conclusion, actually didn't care what, soon. I doubt I will be seeing this one again; it wasn't exactly a waste of time but it doesn't rank very highly as a memorable experience either.
