Thank you all for the many wonderful comments!! I am once again humbled by all the praise.

Let me see if I can answer some of the questions that were posed:

The figures are primarily JJD but I also added some figures from Frontline and First Legion. The dogs are from the First Legion set "Cornwallis and his dogs" (AWI056).

I used 2 things for the ground cover; fine gauge ballast from Woodland Scenics for the sand........for the forest I used a product found at Scenic Express called their Dead Fall Forest Debris.

The river mat is something I had Mark Vuncannon of Build-A-Rama make for me. I wanted a mat that had more water than grass so I had it custom made. He takes special orders and charged me roughly the same price as the other mats he offers in the same size. I highly recommend contacting him if you want something custom made.

The trees are from many manufacturers. Mostly from JG Miniatures but several are also from Scenic Express.

This is a beautiful set-up. Reminds me of a Buxton or Griffing print. -- Al

Al,

You are right on!! I am a big fan of both the artists you mentioned. It was this Robert Griffing print that served as the inspiration for the dio I did:
