Individual Tank Crew? (1 Viewer)

I was wondering if there is any likelihood of K&C producing tank crews seperately from the tanks.

My problem is that I want to display the M10 in a mini diorama, but the crew poses are wrong for what I had in mind. I was after a figure manning the .50 cal (similar to the DD45 figure), covering advancing infantry and a few others in a less 'relaxed' pose.

Has this question generally been raised before, or has Andy given a definate stance on this?

Any info would be gratefully received.

Simon, I believe your question is reasonable. The ability to display a piece as I wish is important to me also. Perhaps if the figures were not glued in place?

I would personally prefer that the figures were not glued in place, to allow the 'mix n' match', but there is a lack of action poses and I don't have the DD45 set (or I would have pinched the MG figure and given him a light dusting of Ardenne snow).

I'm not sure if there's a reason as to why the figures are glued in to place, as the sets I've seen, the figures would stand / sit quite happily on there own.

I suspect I'm in the minority re the action poses as most sets have more static / relaxed poses, but a set or two of pairs of general purpose tankers in a more dynamic pose would be useful.

Great news!

It was really going to bring tears to my eyes trying to bend the supplied tanker's arms with a set of pliers and bench vice in order to get a grip of that MG.

(Only joking, honestly...please no horses heads... )

Glad it was only the arm....LOL :)

Just looked at a pic of WS16 and i think its a really good set to update. Most of the crew look like their scanning for typhoons,i like the chap sitting on the fuel drum. Its another example of how good a set could be NOW.(No disrespect to the old sets). Will look forward to this one.

WS 16 happens to be one of the better sets Andy made and it was an indication where the sculpting was going and how good it could be. It was this set that started to separate Andy from the competition. It was extremely lifelike, especially the figure you mentioned. Also the figure with the binos is quite good. It still remains one of my favorite sets.

It will be really good to see it with improved facial expressions etc as i think this is possibly the weakpoint in this set.But the general poses are good,i wonder if Andy will go for the same outfits.Of course it could be considerably different with different poses altogether. With this set/Paras/warbirds/gestapo car/light brigade its going to be a good 2007.

Let's see, if we could convince Andy to make several versions of each AFV crew, say Normandy, Bugle, AK, etc., we could keep Alex busy doing tank repaints for years..............:D Sorry, Alex. Never mind, Andy, my bad.

You are sure right there!.Have already began cutting back on other hobbies/collections to save up for the forthcoming flood.I want to buy all the Charge and para sets in one go.Will be ringing Mike at K&C UK for some new vouchers tommorow, looks like i've got until June for the charge and sept(approx) for the paras.I think i'm right in thinking that the Charge cavalrymen will be about £50(?)each.And i suppose the Russian gun will be about £100 so theres £250 already. But that charge sure will look good on my office desk.

Rob, you could always ask Tony and Bob for job in the stockroom. Of course when they catch you "knicking" all their goodies you'll be in for doing some hard time.:p

Hey Fred, thats an idea.(Although i would miss all the new stuff whilst behind bars)In a cockney accent: "honestly guv it fell in me pocket!".Actually the wife thinks what i spend is criminal anyway so.....

But if K&C UK ever open that London shop then i'm there!.

Rob

Rob, I think your wife makes a very valid point. My wife is starting to think I'm a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic. Maybe we all should be locked up.......in padded cells.

Mmmm....

It would allow plenty of time to 'Dakar' our new K&C purchases.

(verb - To repaint or weather a product to a level of competancy far in excess of the average collector of said product. Dakar-ed, Dakar-ingUsage - 'Did you see that Hummel? That was well Dakared')

Of course, we would have to slip out arms out of the straight jacket first.

And would have to be happy weathering the purchases with blunt wax crayons, but....

Simon :D

I think a straight jacket would be the best way of keeping me away from my credit card.I'd be found in the cell babbling on about British Paras, camouflage patterns and ltd editions, they'd throw away the key.But i must say its a very happy and enjoyable state of madness.
