I've also been wondering about infractions and if i've been awarded any,i once made a remark about Jennifer Anniston that was close to the mark,hope i havn't got any for that!

Hey Guy's,
I've been off-line for a few days due to being caught up in the tail-end of the typhoon that hit Burma (Myanmar). Couldn't get on the crew change boat on Saturday night due to high seas and heaving boat, so was marooned for around 30 hours on an unmanned platform along with 8 Thai technicians. Felt like Robinson Crusoe......
Anyway, presently in Bangkok getting ready to catch a boat back out to the production field tonight, but feel that a response is necessary here;

This thread was initiated by me as a humourous aside to Brad, our esteemed moderator. I think most members who bothered to look in realised it was a joke and reacted as such.

2)
My good friend Rob responded with a wanted poster which most people appreciated was a joke. Pretty funny comment re SHEEP Rob.....

3)
Unfortunately, a relatively new member of our happy little band took it upon himself to react as if he requires a swift sense of humour transplant. That is okay as this is, to a certain extent, a free forum.
However, the same rather sour individual then proceeded to put words in my mouth with reference to a completely different thread created by the owners of this board, and intended as a place where "the list-compiler" could post his endless demands to his heart's content - without bothering other members.
The fact that some of his suggestions are actually quite good is neither here nor there in the context of this thread.

So, to Brad of Bethlehem, please refrain from crediting me with statements about "the list-compiler" that I have never made. In addition, once you've been here a bit longer, you may (or may not) appreciate the fact that there's an unwritten forum rule/etiquette, call it what you will, that you don't hijack other people's threads to spout your own interpretations of other people's posts.

Now, Brad of Bethlehem, if by some chance you take umbrage at my objections to your statements, don't feel left out. I can supply you with some references so that you can go and join the other humourless and empty-headed group, collectively known as "The Angry People".

Gotta go - ship to catch.
Shall return to this in due course.

Harry, I meant no offense to you, and certainly did not intend to put words in your mouth, so if you take my post that way, I apologize.

I also had no intention of attacking you personally. The point of my post was to refute the comment that some have made that when the moderators of the forum delete a comment that they consider to violate the forum rules, the poster and others immediate cry that their freedom of speech has been violated. Also, it seems that when a specific member of the forum posts his wish lists, others immediately round on him in a manner that seems impolite, even if between that poster and his respondents, the whole matter is really friendly and not as hostile as may seem to those not in the know.

I have no problem with that.
Despite appearances to the contrary, I happen to believe that John Gambale has every right to post his requests in the appropriate suggestions thread on the K&C section of this forum. I made the mistake of indulging in some mild (for me) leg-pulling, until the situation was explained. Since then, I have made an effort to restrain such mickey taking, although it's sometimes not easy as in the case of the Battle of the Bulge comments that were aimed at Chris.
As I have continually repeated, if you are a fan of the WWII NA Desert war, then a lot of JG's suggestions are brilliant - including his requests for Italian troops and equipment.
It may be better however, that he be left to make his regular requests as he pleases. It's always other members perogative whether they desire to read or not read his posts.
I hope this clears that one.
