Interesting enquiry/question - I hope! K & C MG figures for D-Day.

The Market Garden British Paras are the only British WW2 series I do not collect, but was thinking of looking at doing something for D-Day, such as Pegasus Bridge, Melville Battery or destruction of bridges over the Dives River.

The duel questions I have,
Firstly which MG figures do you feel/think would be applicable to use in a D-Day diorama?
Secondly which figures would not be
applicable to use in a D-Day diorama?

There are actual named figures which would not be, but it those others i would be interested in hearing about which could be used?

Hello Walsingham,
Am including four of my blog articles which incorporate a complete photographic catalog of Andy Neilson’s production series of “Operation Market-Garden”. To the best of my knowledge the uniforms, armament and individual equipment had not changed from Operation Tonga (Pre-Overlord) for paratroopers, airlanding troops, and glider pilots. Not absolutely certain, but excluding the heavily armed Reece Jeeps, feel that a limited number the vehicles would be appropriate. As you know the Airspeed AS-51 Horsa MkI could carry a jeep and trailer combination, but don't think any were included in the "coup-de-main" assault gliders which landed directly on the bridge approaches.

The first blog article discusses the last of the series produced, so you can exercise your own judgement on the figures.

Referencing the catalog numbers in the articles, personally feel that any of the following would be appropriate for the D-Day (Overlord) diorama you are contemplating.

Excellent reply from ArnhemJim.

I also would like a D-Day focus on British Paras. Pegasus Bridge would be a superb series to explore.

First of all in response to the original post:

You can use any figure/set you like mate, maybe not the Twin Vickers jeeps or 75mm pack though. Maybe also avoid Tantham-Warter with his umbrella but any other figure is sure to be no problem! Although good luck explaining the figure with M1 carbine, I couldn't even get an answer it of Any for 'Sergeant Jack Scott'🤣🤣

I'll PM you matey!

Cheers!

Scott
