Fairly sure this is not 1/30th. The bridge should be able to have figures on it, but it looks tiny when I expand the photo. Possibly it should read 1/300th. Robin.

I agree Robin, it just looks to small to be 1/30 scale.

I have no idea wether this is true 1/30 but I did check the sellers other items and there's lots of 1/30 - 1/35 items from main stream mfg.ers and what looks like some same scale knock offs. They should know something about scale, 1/300 would be measured under 3" I believe.

The Italians used these "chariots" extensively in ww2.
As to the first post on the thread the Germans developed their own line in mini subs, whether this reflects an actual model or not I don't have the specialised knowledge in this subject. HoweverI remember years ago being told by an ex Royal Marine, how at the end of the war he and his men found one of these near Hamburg at low tide that had sunk and the diver had died trapped, apparently from asphyxiation.

Yes, it's a torpedo, drived to the target by 2 crews siting on it

ANd the other one is the good size, the U boat is very small, the torpedo is on the flanc, perhaps a Nager

Frankly, at these prices, I still think it is worth considering, i.e. if I see something I like or when I need the piece to complete a diorama. Moreover, we have all bought stuff that look worse and some at higher prices.

I would not be put off by purchasing something from an unknown seller, particularly when the item is relatively cheap.
I have purchased two of the Biber submarines (they are 1/30 scale and go really well with the K&C Seehund) from this Chinese manufacturer/seller for myself and a friend.
I have found the service to be excellent.
One of the subs was received with some damage but I was able to repair the item.
The seller was prepared to offer a full refund if I was unable to repair the sub.

Good to here that he is reputable. I've taken chances myself sending for items out of Russia and the Ukraine and had no problems.It's just that the very low prices and free shipping made my alarm go off.

I had a look myself as to what this seller was offering and liked one of the Napoleonic French Red Lancers, which I ordered.
It arrived pretty quickly and is a very nicely painted figure.
The only adverse comment I would say is that the horses head and bridle would of been better sculpted separately rather than as one moulding.
As to size, smaller than a WB Red lancer, but matches well with FL mounted figures, though I don't have a FL Red lancer to compare directly with.
Value for money ? yes it's a very nice new figure for the price, as it was £52 /$68 including shipping.

I've now ordered an Old Guard Sapper figure, hopefully that will be as nice.

Verlinden makes really great resin kits. I have been putting together for about two years now. I really like them.{sm3}

Thanks for this tip-off Steve.
I bought this figure:

Some of the colours aren't quite right but the standard of painting is good, as is the modelling.
Fits well with W Britain and First Legion and, at $21.00 (with free postage), it's a bargain.

Hopefully the seller will get the other British Napoleonic figure in stock again, as you say for the price these figures are bargains.

I expect they are tempting to have a go at correcting the colours to a more realistic tone, but dyes weren't particularly colourfast back then. I read at Waterloo because of the heavy rain, the white trousers British light company Guardsmen were wearing, were getting stained Pink as the dye was running from their jackets !

My Sapper came and again a nice sculpt and paint job most happy.
