I would like to say hello to all you Jenkins collectors. This is my first post as I just joined the forum a couple of days ago.I'm am a late starter collecting Jenkins but I have always loved the F&I War period.I didn't want to start collecting any thing else but when I saw the Breujeau & Dumas figures I purchased them and really liked them. Then I purchased the Wolfe death vignette. Then I saw The Battle On Snowshoe series that was it, I was hooked.I look foward to reading your comments and discussions about Jenkins and other companies. My name is Mark and thank you for taking the time to read this.Good night to all.

Welcome Mark I joined the forum because of the Jenkins figures, Polar Bear posts some awesome pictures and I than could not resist the figures. I have credit card reciepts to prove it! His line is very exciting and fun to collect.

Welcome to the forum Mark!
We're all looking forward to the 2008 releases from JJ.

Welcome - I too am fairly new to this forum. Until recently I collected K&C Rev War figures. Then I bought my first Woodland Indian set by JJ - Been hooked on JJD items ever since. I now have 4 Woodland Indian sets, 2 blockhouses, both civilian sets, 2 cannons, 1 cannon crew, all three Virginia Provencial Regiment sets, the Quebec militia set, and the Runners of the Woods set. I also have 2 stockade sets preordered. My K&C stuff is starting to feel neglected. I owe, I owe, so its off to work I go . . .

Welcome

No question - John Jenkins are fine figures !

Here is a pointer for the new Jenkins Collectors

Try to pay attention to the release numbers - you want to buy the 250 & 350 figure sets first. The 500 figures sets will be around much longer and you dont want to miss out.

Also - for those who are just starting - the new Blockhouse Set is a 250 run, make sure to get this soon - it will sell out fast.

Have fun and welcome to the Zoo

Hi Mark,
welcome to the forum. I am very happy to see another member joining as a FIW collector. That is my subject too and I do collect the JJD figures, that's the matte finished part, and also the Britains glossy FIW series.
Looking forward to exchange infos about the subject.
Happy Collecting!
Konrad

Greetings Mark

Glad to hear you are collecting John Jenkins. I'm focusing on the Battle on Snowshoes. These are terrific figures and look wonderful in displays. There is a growing number of French & Indian War collectors on this forum and we are glad to have you aboard. There are several threads that may interest you on the subject and I hope you will participate and post your thoughts and if possible pictures of your growing collection.

Mark,

Greetings. I see you live in NJ. There is a show in NJ on March 16 in the Meadowlands area and I know George Guerriero of Minuteman who is a John Jenkins dealer will be there. Take a look at the Show section as we get closer for the actual location.

I am also focusing on Battle on Snowshoes.I just got some scenic supplies to do a winter scene but I also got supplies for a spring/summer diorama. I like the forest type warfare of the period.

I also collected other periods.Conte Viking,K&C Crusades,ACW but I've always like FIW the best.I have 6 Indian sets,Indian canoe Breujeau set,FM-03,FM-04,Wolfe and Montcalm vignettes,Blockhouse on the way,2 more Indian sets preordered.I have Tried to get the French Marine sets and BM-02 but after reading through the threads I can see that is almost impossible.Hopefully there will be some in the St. Francis line.

John told me when I was hunting for FM-01 not to worry that there will be more French Marines down the line.:)

I love the irregular style of warfare practiced in North America during the French and Indian War with its rangers and light infanty companies. Very much ahead of its time. For that we can thank the woodland Indians who pioneered it and Braddock's neglect of it as a lesson for the British.

Hey Randy there is a company from GB that is called Tommy Atkins toy soldiers, really cool stuff on the FI war as well as the plains Indians glossy figures just wondering if you have ever heard of them. You do know you are the FI war guy and I mean that as a complete and total compliment!

As a former Marine myself (0331), I wouldn't mind having a compliment of French Marines in my collection. I am still happy as all get out that I was able to acquire the French Militia sets FM03 and FM04. Those will do for now.

Yes I have heard of them and looked at their website but do not own any. I have to agree I see many very interesting subjects.

I think these look pretty cool:
