Yo Troopers, this is the only Irish Free State I have been able to find besides the Britains set # 1603. This is made by Fusilier showing the gun crew at the start of the Irish civil war 1922. The British provided these 13pdrs to the Irish Army to blast the irregulars out of Dublin castle, who were against the treaty with the British, they wanted a Republic and nothing else. But after this war and the assassination of the greatest Irish hero Micheal Collins, the war ended with nothing gained as is usual. The Irish didn't get the Republic until 1948.

Bernard,
How it must have felt to blast at your brethren and at one of the only landmarks loved by all!
