I assume you found the list? It's also got the ones previously issued back in the 90s, with photos in many cases.

The warbird's are great but you neet a lot of spice and money .
and for one warbird you have lot of models from BBG,MG,WS .....

richard:)

My Dear Young Collectors

The Warbirds are simply works of art. Something that all true K&C Collectors should want and have in their collection.

However, I would suggest that the cost of the Warbirds is made for the K&C Collector who has everything.

If you dont have everything - I think IMHO your money would be best spent building the mass of your current collection - before buying a single high ticket item. Once Again, IMHO - buying several items from several ranges or even all of one range would make more sense in your K&C Collecting efforts at this time.

And of course NAPOLEONICS is the best place to start. :D ;)

Happy Collecting,

Ron

Ron,
I think this is good advise that you've provided to our younger forum members. I've seen some of the warbirds and they are magnificent items, but for those lesser mortals (like me) on a relatively restricted budget, its far better to concentrate on the less esoteric ranges.

Cheers

Ron, I think you are quite right when you say these models are a high ticket item, I can't even begin to think how to justify that kind of money for a single model whilst I can get a healthy amount of Napoleonics instead.

With all due respect, I completely disagree with that advice.

The kid is saving his money for near one year now (congrats for that) and if he wants to buy only one item with his money, then he should go for it.

If he does that, he will have plenty of time to buy, month after month, all the New Market range without letting go a Warbird that will be sold out in (maybe) few days.

Pierre.

If you are totally focused on Market Garden why don't you try and get something you can use for that like a glider.

:eek::eek:

I am shocked with your tone:eek:;)

Only kidding;):D, I doubt that there will be a Horsa Glider coming out very soon, and it will probably be much dearer than the recent warbirds:eek::(

But otherwise, I would love one, I have searched high and low for a company, or a solo worker to make or find me one, but none of them had/could find them:(

Scott,
I know the scale is a fair bit off, but Great North Roads here in the UK do an all resin 1/35 scale Horsa for about £180 unpainted.

Might work as a background piece.

me I'd spend the money on a couple of trips to europe , to see arnhem, normandy coast or a trip to berteschgarden (eagles nest) and nuremburg (still got the stadium and podium there) etc, dirt cheap flying with ryanair ,and still have money left for a few arnhem guys and a whole lot more fun than buying a heftly priced war bird;):D:D:D:D:D:D

Completely 100% agree with this one. Warbirds IMO are for those who already have EVERYTHING.

Scott,

Motion Models makes one , but I'm sure it won't be cheap. It's similar to the old K & C one.

BTW, for all those who think they're for those "who have everything," I don't have everything. People who buy these don't tell you how to spend your money or what you're buying isn't worth it so how about we dispense with some of the gratuitous comments.

Brad,
As far as I can tell, no-one contributing to this thread has actually TOLD anyone what they ought to spend their money on. All I can see is personal opinions for and against the wisdom of buying a warbird....or ten. Last I heard, expressing personal opinions was still permitted - whether you, I, or anyone else agrees or disagrees with those opinions. Correct?
:):):)
My own opinion for what it may be worth is, by all means go ahead and obtain a warbird. They have so many champions that they simply MUST be excellent (in the eyes of the beholder).....But I've seen them, and I, myself, would rather spend what money I have to spare on other items available in the hobby.

Best Regards
H

gratuitous= given, done, bestowed, or obtained without charge or payment; free; voluntary.

obviously a collector of a certain age, wisdom and disposable income will see the value in obtaining the warbirds however for a collector in doubt , weighing up the pros and cons & seeking opinions then some harmless fun alternatives, in addition to the fun of collecting K&C ,about furthering interests in the hobby are hardly without reason or justification...

Agreed Hugh.
Now get yourself along to the translation site I suggested in the Misc section.

With all due respect, saying that Warbirds are for those who have everything is not only a gratuitous comment but also a dismissive one.

According to that statement, I can't buy the Arado Ar 196 just because I love that model. Seems to be an argument a little bit restrictive.

Pierre.
