Hi guys, just wanted to know from your experience; the figures i'm purchasing, will they gain in value or decrease in the next years? I'm asking this because soomeone to whom i showed them my collection said "Wow nice investment, it will be worth more later on". And that got me thinking... is that really the case or i'm i dreaming?
Thanks!

Hi Nicolas,

I just saw that we are neighbours.

The answer is yes for WWII and no for the rest unless it was done prior 2000.

Pierre.

Don't collect as an investment, its just too iffy. Collect because you love what you are collecting. That being said, right now, K&C seems to be a pretty darn good investment. But who's to say that this trend will continue? I believe the trend will continue, because of the continuing quality and innovation by Andy and the K&C family, but the market for K&C could collapse tomorrow.

I think Louis has nailed it, this market is becoming very competitive and manufacturers continue to improve their products. As I have often said if you just collect what you like you can't go wrong because even if it doesn't appreciate in value you still gain enjoyment from it.

Would you buy an ugly painting simply because the artist was currently popular?

You should do this for fun, not as an investment. When you start thinking in those terms, you will be making decisions that rob you of your enjoyment. When I make investment decisions, I go to my investment advisor. This you should be deciding because you like it or not.
