I was playing around with the four confederate turnpike fence sets trying get the layout like this picture. My questions are am I missing something ? Is this layout even possible with the sets out of the boxes ? Or is this fence section custom made my the master for his show displays ? It seems to me that with the solid display sections and the loose rails and posts as they come that every other fence section will have no figures. I'm trying to get a more concentrated Reb grouping. If this doesn't make sense I've had a few Newcastle Brown Ale's.

The setup is possible using sets 31221, 31222, 31223, and 31224. To get the same image you need to remove left fence sections of 31222 & 31223, and the right fence section of 31224. Then use the removed sections for building another rear fence line or extending the fence line display at each end. You can add the "Hell For Glory" set #31199 for additional advancing troops and casualties at the fence line.

Thanks for the answer, but wouldn't you have to remove a post off of each fixed fence section ? Otherwise you would have two fence posts next to each other.

The only thing I did different was to drill a hole in the top fence post of the shattered fence section. The section the the left was not the pre-assembled section but one made up to the same configuration as that one but with loose rails and posts.
That other pre-assembled section was used farther down the line.
By the way...no photoshopping here, just three dioramas an a few grass bases and hedgerows!
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the explanation Ken, it actually makes perfect sence. I kinda figured that doing a few alterations was necessary to get that setup. Any plans in the future to make a few fill in figures for these sets ?
