I don't know, I think the Samuaris are very colorful and a pretty neat series...Sammy

Agreed, I think they are very nice. Would I prefer something else? Probably, but its not my decision to make. I'm sure there is a good fan base backing the samurai line otherwise FL probably wouldn't make them.

Im sure FL will venture into SS (hopefully not Italians) eventually. Daruss, I did't know you collected FL. What line or lines do you currently collect?

I don't know those new Mounted Samurai figures look Fantastic {bravo}} although I don't collect em they are certainly better eye then WW II italians :wink2: Gebhard

Strictly Germans Stalingrad. I would like to venture into the American Revolution series someday..

Your idea for some Italians would be workable in the Stalingrad line, wouldn't they? Wasn't it the Italian armies that the Russians attacked through, in order to surround the German Sixth Army? While SS wouldn't fit with Stalingrad, the Italians shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Romanians. Italians became part of the Stalingrad story later in December, when the relief operation was going. But yes, Italians are part of the Stalingrad story

I stand corrected. And here I thought I didn't need to check any references before posting.....

Hello,
Totally agree with Geb, Samurai range is fantastic and colorful. An Italian range is not an emergency... I think that Matt have more "sexy" projects to propose this year{sm4}.

The ECPA in Paris has a photo collection from the Italian front in 12/42 as it collapsed. It's really interesting as it shows columns/mobs of Italians & nearby German units in retreat over the snowy steppe, & sometimes stopping for a hasty defense. It's the only pic collection I know of that shows the turning point of WW2 really at ground zero...the axis units broken at the front & in full retreat over the snow, albeit in good order. A few pics were of a well camouflaged 88 deployed on the forward slope of a gentle rise with a few T-34 victims just 50 - 100 yards away

Daruss..

Would have to say having looked at the picture of the charging samurai that, I would say no would rather have them than SS or italians.

The samurai look very nice and, does anyone have individual pictures as the site only shows one group picture. The war range as I have said is not now for me and, new german releases like the motorbike just confirms this for me. The rider is the same facial sculpt and, cannot get my head around the air recon flag on the back of the bike!!!!

Sorry bud but no, I would much rather see the Samurai than the Waffen SS- couple reasons- WW2 is all over the place- if I want Waffen SS, I can go to half a dozen other manufacturers and get them for less. Secondly, the Samurai figures really REALLY bring out FL's artistic talent- that is pretty evident with the pictures of the Mounted Samurai on the FL website- this particular time period really plays to their strengths.
