.........for OTSN 2007. Based on what Andy has said about rolling out the new British Airborne range in time for the show, I am already at work planning out my display for these long anticipated figures.

Over the next couple of months, myself and Nick (my right hand man, my building specialist) will be trying to assemble the following scratch builts; the Hartenstein Hotel, the gas works at Oosterbeek, the church at Oosterbeek and Kate ter Horst's house. We may scrap the church in the interest of time (and display space), focusing on the hotel, with slit trenches around it, the tennis court behind it which held German prisoners, leading back to the gas works and Kate's house.

My other idea was to try to replicate a portion of Arnhem, including Frost's HQ and part of the bridge, but my preference is to push forward with the Oosterbeek display instead. Wish us luck as we attempt to pull this rather daunting task off in time...............

For me, the picture I always remember from A Bridge too Far is the shot from the second or third floor balcony overlooking the bridge. I think that anything involving even part of the bridge would allow for a lot of display potential for the Axis vehicles as well as the British Paras.

Whichever you choose to do,I look forward to the display. I know the work will be first class.

That building was Frost's HQ and you are spot on, that was a terrific view and would make for a great display.

Thanks for the words of encouragement; I've not forgotten about your church and priory. Iv'e painted up the priory and am 99% sure I can secure the church, these things sometimes take longer than expected, but good things come to those who wait........actually thought about using the conte church and priory in the Arnhem display, but wanted to do the actual church at Oosterbeek instead if possible............

George,, count me in as one those looking really forward to seeing what you and Nick come up with, I'm sure it will be awesome as usual. I'm with Simon on the HQ and part of the bridge suggestion (I think you and I discussed this over the phone a couple a weeks ago), a great way to showcase the new British paras and incorporate some German armor.

Will these buildings be for sale?

I suspect the ones that George uses to sell the paras will not be for sale. However, I'm sure Nick (Morbshock) would be more than happy to make these to order. His work is of very high quality and I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if Andy also made buildings to go with the paras. He did that originally so who knows?

From my perspective, the most eagerly awaited K & C releases of next year will be the paras and World War I. I, of course, am looking forward to the War Birds coming back but I think to collectors at large, the latter two releases will be the ones that will be huge hits.

I plan on incorporating the buildings into the existing ones Nick makes for me, and since I strongly feel the British Para's will be strong sellers, they will be for sale. He and I have already discussed the project and I have forwarded pictures to him of what I want done. If there are any buildings you or anyone else are interested in, I'm all ears.

That's a good question. I have no idea. I'm not even sure what the older ones were, I'm assuming 1/32.

I think the best line of the movie has to be when the German crosses the bridge with a white flag to ask the Brits about surrendering and the para on the balcony next to Frost tells the German "sorry, but we haven't the proper facilities to take prisoners" ...... classic.

Aircraft always look larger compared to figures or vehicles in the same scale, so 1/32 being slightly smaller than 1/30 may look more realistic - strange but true.
