I don't think the 50 Cal will ever go out of style.

Japanese Model 92 70mm "Battalion howitzer". Every Japanese Infantry Battalion had 2 of these organic to the battalion. I made this one from scratch.

US Marines faced these guns in three wars: Japanese in WWII, Chinese used Japanese guns they captured or were left behind when Japan surrendered against Marines in Korea, NVA ( courtesy of communist China) used these against Marines in Viet nam.

Japanese solder with slight conversion and 70mm shells in hand on ground. The Type 92 was so versatile; it had a wide variance of elevation and barrel positioning. It could be fired as a mortar, an indirect fire howitzer, or a direct fire line of site gun.

By the way, this is the actual sand I collected off Red Beach on Iwo Jima during a battle study there in January of this year. This volcanic sand was also used by the Japanese to make a superior grade of concrete used in the hundreds of hidden bunkers throughout the island.

Rick,

Wonderful LVT-4, like the paint scheme, the gunner manning the 50 cal., is he from the KC IWJ007? It’s a great conversion there.

Suggestion, if you don't know yet, the Figarti LVT is terrific with metal detailing that 1/35 modeling world presently enjoys but at a larger scale. I wasn’t trying sound like “pitchman” but it’s something you may want to consider.

The Figarti LVT (A3214) is the exact size as KC's IWJ023 Amtrack. I'll post the Figarti in a dio’s later because I just want the Forum to just enjoy your conversions for awhile without any distractions from my photos.

Okay Rick,

How did you do this one? Fantastic conversion, but I ‘m clueless on how you did this, were the original figures came from or I should say parts? It looks similarly like WS65’s pose but it can’t be.

Nice conversion, okay I think I've said enough about these pictures and now it's time for others to comment.

Carlos,
Thanks for the comments.
I have the Figarti Amtrac and your right, it is a terrific piece.

The conversions/repaints are all from one set DD61:
I removed all the black gas mask cases.
The 50 Cal Gunner is the Captain aiming the rifle. I sculpted a life jacket and modified his arms.

The corpsman is the DD61 medic.
The wounded Marine and kneeling Marine are the other two figures from DD61 with gas mask removed and chest resculpted.

Semper Fi!
Rick

Amazing job! I am more than impressed. By the way, I agree that the Figarti Amtraks are really special. I have always thought that they made the best armored vehicles. I wish that they were 1:30 scale so the vehicles went with my K&C figures. I guess with the improvements in the K&C and Honour Bound vehicles, the amazing K&C figures and dioramas, and the beyond amazing new K&C aircraft, I should stop worrying about it.

Excellent Panzer and thank you for keeping us on track with postings of toy soldier topics. :)

Rick,

Great job on those conversions. I'm happy chopping up plastic, but to do that in metal is impressive.

Nice one and thanks for sharing the pics.

Awsome job Panzer!!!
What did you use to remove the gas masks? I,ve tried converting metal figures before and its very hard to cut them up. What do you use to cut them up and remove unwanted detail?

Panzer, nice job. That must be a chore with metals. Also great Marine color scemes on the uniforms. Mike.
