Looking back at some old plastic soldiers from the 70s I saw a potential and decided to do this little diorama about the last acts of the battle of Iwo Jima when the last defenders came out of the bunker caves of Mount Suribachi for one last charge. The film "Letters from Iwo Jima" was also inspiring.
The result is satisfactory for me: the lack of some details is amply filled by the plastic dynamism and the lightness of the figurines.

I always enjoy a dio with a Pacific war theme and you capture it nicely atop Mt. I still have these Marx figures from my childhood Poppo; great stuff! I love looking at the old plastics. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Poppo, your picture needed a deserving backdrop. Hope you don't mind:

I think I enjoyed the Marx sets the most. Carried them all over. Great stuff!

Thank you very much, Rob! Your backdrop improves the scene a lot!:salute::

Thank you, I m glad you like it. Yes, It is funny to paint and modify some of my old plastic figures, the biggest and most detailed ones ( Ex. I made the helmet net with a piece of painted gauze). I have a rich imagination and creativity in this field and as I see a few figures, immediately comes in my mind the scene. I have seen many pacific dioramas with the japaneses in the jungle, so I did something different.

I have almost finished to paint 2 plastic cowboys for a vignette , I will post it in one of the next days.:smile2:
