Mike

That's a RUM looking scene you've got there methinks. That's what's in those kegs. :D

Very nicely done in every respect.

Randy

Michael. I agree with Randy. From the looks of that keg that's being delivered I think there is more brewing here than just coffee. Perhaps those rangers are mixing some Bailey's Irish Creame in with their Java ;). Nice photo . . . . . .
:) Mike

In that period it's more likely to be TEA. Coffee was just coming in to the Colonies in the 18th century so it's possible. But could common soldiers afford it?
From experience, COFFEE does make period camping civilized but you have to work for it.

The Ranger carrying the Keg is just bringing a SEAT. Like the others. That makes primitive camping "civilized" as well.

and right you are...

most definitely tea and not coffee...

couldn't find a rhyme with "tea" and "Jabba" though...

"java" worked so much better...don't you think...

it doesn't have to be perfect Scott...just fun...

I don't feel the need to scrutinize accuracy that closely...

respects...;)

Nice scene, Michael! Fortifying themselves for a day's patrol through the woods--or maybe warming up after ;)

Prost!

"Fun's fun until someone loses an eye."

Well...................I won't mention the brass ramrod tips.

These ARE beautiful figures but the "buffs" will see stuff like that.

"Fun's fun until someone loses an eye."

I'm not sure how this applies...so I have no reply...

Well...................I won't mention the brass ramrod tips.

It's kind of too late for that...In fact...I think this is already the SECOND time you've mentioned them...

"These ARE beautiful figures but the "buffs" will see stuff like that.

Maybe these "buffs" should relax a little...unless they're just trying to discourage people from buying a manufacturer's work...perhaps they should just have a little fun instead of looking at a photo and saying...

"Hmmmmmm...lets see what I can find wrong with this man's work?"

honestly...your "innocent, fun, insightful" remarks are kind of irritating at times...nobody likes their work picked apart by a "buff"...;)

respects...

Well, I don't collect painted metal figures. I would collect THESE if I did and I'd be hesitant to correct the maker's painting as it might ruin the resale value.

I have to note that they are posted for "public" view and comment. There's obvious effort that went into research, sculpting and painting them, but something like 1760s Brown Bess parts are easily verifiable.

Sorry to annoy you Mike but you have lots of these Jenkins figures and your opinion would influence the maker. You should get what you pay for as these are not green army men.

Now I used the term "buff" because "experts" make a living from history. But "buffs" usually know something and can verify it with documentation. It's also not a matter of "relaxing." Most of the plastic stuff I collect and paint is openly "fun" in a history context, so I'm pretty relaxed. When I did paint metals for customers I did have a customer send one back for repainting such details. That Red Coat is now in the Sergeant's Mess of the 2nd Battalion of The Royal Anglian Regiment. (last I knew in 1979) Another was a 120mm resin casting Russian Guard of some sort from a limited edition run, and a third was the demon figure from the film The UnNamable. That one came back several times because I had to make the film's director happy.

I appreciate the "atta boys" on my stuff posted here but I was corrected on two different details by two different members and I went back and fixed them.
