(I have started a new thread as I shortsightedly put the name of my first dio in the title thread).

You do like your TG - but in this case it is pure K&C. This dio is all me - no help whatsover! That probably explains why the backdrop has a huge join mark down the middle. I will glue it a bit better next time! I am planning a visit to the Western Front shortly in the form of K&C 1914 Germans, although another Napoleonic might also be on the cards.

Rumour has it that you have done so many dios you may need to put out your own dispatches!

Jack

There you go, just shows my total ignorance of all things NAPS.:redface2: Look forward to a Great War dio, always good to see.:smile2:
Wayne.

That's a splendid scene Jack. I very much like your grass work there. Glad the Tamiya worked out for you, more please!{bravo}}

Good onya Jack (and wife), nice dio and pic's!

P.S. The advertising plugs for the brands (and Rob) works a treat...:rolleyes2::rolleyes:^&grin

Thanks Rob. We don't see many Naps dioramas, but they are great sets. Wellington is such an iconic figure - I actually was not going to buy him, but when you start thinking dio first and what soldiers to get second, it does help focus the mind a little.

Thanks Tom - before the end of the year I am going to post a diorama with a tank in it just to show how flexible I am! By the time I get to it, however, I fear that Wayne will be on No. 63!

Jack,they are excellent sets, I know everyone loves the Sots Greys but the Brit (and French actually) artillery pieces are among my personal faves. I very much agree with you re the decision process, I often think of the dio first and then look at my collection to see what I need to add to make the scene. I often find inspiration from films, docus, instruction and even public information films of the time . The Imperial War Museum has a large range of these and I have almost all of them now, they are a superb place to plunder ideas and themes.{bravo}}

I look forward to your next Jack!:smile2:

I won't say the obvious and just go for 70, if the camera holds out......:tongue::p
Wayne.

^&cool Nice work! I can almost hear the Duke saying "Guns are good but give me a tank any day...".{sm4}

Terrific work, Jack...Napoleonic dios are great and you have shown just what kind of impact can be given with just a few figures, rather than a huge firing line. It is so much more interesting to focus on the figures that you have set out here (and your terrain work), and these are, of course, great sets. Congratulations on a very successful diorama!

Nice dio!

Larso

The proverb 'brevity is the soul of wit' means that articulate and intelligent communication (speech and writing) should use few and wisely chosen words. It is best associated with the play 'Hamlet,' by William Shakespeare.

Your response to a diorama by a friend of over two decades standing is indeed, at least according to Shakespeare, very witty.

Many thanks. Unlike you, the master illusionist, I am tied to items of the same scale. I am moving to Egypt for my next effort. You, of course, are moving into central and eastern Europe.

We could meet in the Crimea!

Dear Scarlet Pimpernel

Many thanks for your kind words. I got into the hobby far too late to even contemplate the expense of firing lines and in a way it forces you to think a bit differently about what figures will work. Its pretty standard fare, but it is number 2 and I aim to learn one thing from each one.

I am a huge fan of Baroness Orczy's work - love the books and as a younger, thinner man, wooed my wife over a viewing of Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour in the 1982 movie version. Highly recommended.

Jack

Nice dio.....Margret

No...no...no. This one is all mine. I do seem to recall, however, that having seen the gauntlet thrown down, there was some wild talk that you might post something. Take your time - you have only been collecting for six months. Plenty of time to catch up to Wayne and I.
