Rob (vandilay) has very graciously commissioned me to paint a set of Highlanders of the Jacobite Rebellion 1746. These figures are made by Tradition of London, who is one of my favourite manufactures of white metal castings.

This should be fun to do as Rob can give his input as to what colours etc he would prefer as we progress through this How-To project.

These are the castings, each comes in it’s own bag with a colour photo of the finished figure as supplied by Tradition.

Here we have all the figures cleaned up and assembled with gel type super glue. There was very little flash to clean off and the detail is very crisp.

Two of the figures have duplicates so the arms have been positioned slightly different to give greater variety.

Figures after a couple of light coats of grey primer. Will start to paint these in a few days time so the undercoat can thoroughly dry and to let Rob post his ideas about colour schemes (also lets me finish the Elephant Battery).

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for posting the pictures of the Tradition Highlander Jocobite Rebellion figures. I am already becoming excited about watching you bring them alive! Further, I am interested in seeing what Rob decides regarding colors, etc.

Thanks for allowing us to follow your remarkable work!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Once again it's great seeing Jeff putting his magical paint brush to work by and outstading Wizard with a brush...The Lt.

Hi Rob,

I've just finished the Elephant Battery so will start on these in the next day or so. Just need to buy some Tartan paint..:D

Jeff

Can't wait to see the progress. Maybe we should give Jeff his own section of the Forum :)

Brad,

This will challenge the old eyesight and shaky hand alright when it comes down to the Tartans. I need to research some of the clans for colour details before I do too much painting.

Ha, yes I blame you for all this :p:D

Jeff

I accept the grave responsibility that has been placed upon me :D
