Jacobite Rebellion 1746. (4 Viewers)

Rob,

Have painted all the main colours, these will have a second coat when I do the touching in after the equipment etc has been painted. Then the tartan stripes will be painted onto the base colours you see here.

All down hill from now on then!...........

Jeff as your painting Scots A whiskey or two could be in order
to steady the hand when it comes down to the stripes , if the
brush goes astray put it down too artistict expresion :).

Rob,

I have started to paint the equipment belts, pouches and such like. Also the shoes, tried to give a bit of variation i.e. black or brown. The backs of the Targes (shields) have all been painted brown but the front faces will have some variety.

Regards

Jeff

"Aye the work gangs bonnily on".
And here's a challenge (although I'm aware it should be posted in the Mindfield Trivia Thread).....Who knows where that quote comes from..??
Clue:- I bet only people interested in early Scots Covenanting history, 100 years before Bonnie Prince Charlie arrived on the scene, will know the answer. :):)

Cheers

Harry, sorry I haven't got a clue unless it was William Wallace.

Rob has decided to let me have a free rein on the faces, so its whites of the eyes with brown dots, rosy cheeks and lips, and a variation of colours for the hair and eyebrows.

Here we have the clan chief and front rank clansmen, most of the equipment has been finished, more details to be painted on the targes – front and back.

The same applies to the lower rank clansmen; the main colours will have a second coat of paint before the tartan pattern is started.

Rob,

I'm glad you like them so far......(they look a lot better full size). I will proceed with the next stage asap.

Jeff

Rob,

More detail added to the claymores, targes, buckles and other bits and pieces. The chief has gold accoutrements whilst the clansmen have silver.

Good luck with the tartan, as Simon said "better to watch than
to paint" :)

Rob,

They are beginning to look better, what colour do you want the bases? I think a medium green shows the figure off better than the dark green that Tradition use.

Rob,

I have given the main colours, i.e. green, red and blue a second coat today and this afternoon started painting the tartan patterns.......a slow slow process ......so it will be a day or two before I post any more photos of my progress

Jeff

Rob,

Got stuck in today………and so here are your completed Jacobites. I tried to vary as much as possible the clothing and tartan. These are a little basic compared to real designs, but these are glossy traditional toy soldiers after all :p;)

Hope you enjoyed the process…..I’m off to rest the old eyeballs.

Regards

Jeff
