jagdpanter barrel (1 Viewer)

Why has JJ included a grey barrel as an alternative?

The barrel part tends to wear the most so it may not require the replacement of the entire gun assembly. The barrel can be replaced in the field and would come from the factory without camo. It was not unusual to see camouflaged Panthers with grey gun barrels.

Terry is correct and this is also what JJD wrote on his website concerning the inclusion of the grey gun barrel with the Jagdpanther model:

“The GA-01(121) Jagdpanther is painted in a factory tri-camo pattern and features the choice of cannon barrel painted in factory heat resistant grey lacquer, or tri-camo. During WW2, German tank cannon barrels were delivered to the tank factories and to combat units finished in both grey and Dunkelgelb (dark yellow) heat resistant lacquer.”

I switch the barrels out on my Jagdpanther periodically to change up my display a little.

John seems to cover all the bases on his sets, it's one of the things I like about him!

Been away on holiday, thanks but I meant0 why was John Jenkins doing it on this set and not others? I knew why they used grey barrels, but why did they do it on that set?
