I though you might want to see and hear the real tank fire its gun.

Check it out, click on the link below its on you tube so you need sound to actually hear it fire, its loud, so careful with the volume......

I dont know its a live round.....

enjoy....

That is so cool. I need a new job. Restoring tanks! I love the firing sequence. To bad the did not show the fiat they accidentally blew up a split second later:D:D

Wow, there sure was a huge difference in the size of the shells they fired. But in the Sherman's defense we tend to forget that it was a medium tank whereas the Tiger was a heavy. A comparison of a Tiger against a Pershing would have been fairer.

I think that is what the Sherman crews thought.;)

This you tube and the tank clips are amazing. I just wish they would load better. They keep stoping. But brilliant information when you can see all of it.

KV,
Let the YouTube clip load and play - 9 times out of 10 it'll keep stopping as you say, so the best thing to do is let it play while you go and have a nice cup of tea or plasma or whatever. When you come back from your coffin, just play the clip again. 9 times out of 10, the second time you play it (and the first time you actually watch it) it'll play fine without stops and starts.
Honest Guv.....give it a try, it works. :):)

Cheers
H

It may well be down to the buffering not been as quick as the actual playing. I tend to start the clip and then pause it for a short while, to let the buffer-y thing do it's stuff and then play. Makes for much smoother viewing.

Great videos! Boy were the Allied Tankers brave to face up to monsters like the Jagpanther and the Tiger with only Shermans!

Very nice. Excepet volume quality was kind of low. Oh well. All ready have seen hetzers, bazoka, sherman, cannons, etc......

Harry Thank you I will try that. The clips are amazing! They keep on coming too. I am amazed at how much of the german I understand.

I don't think it's a real round. It's isn't nearly violent enough, there is very little muzzle flash (mostly smoke) and no recoil (the barrel should recoil back into the fighting compartment). I also think finding a place to legally discharge one of these would be very difficult.

...Still a cool video though.

I have been watching a lot of those videos. No way those are full loads. My guess is that they would not even clear the barrel. ACW loads are a lot louder than that and they are black powder.

You tube has tons of videos covering all sorts of Armour on WWII:)

I think the link I posted was real; afterall it was a comparative test of the armor penetration of a Tiger and Sherman.

Oh? I was looking at another related re-enactment. There are so many I got confused:confused::confused: I remember the original link now:eek::eek: It really is good stuff there and I appreciate the link to see all the goodies. Now if I can just fit one of those in the car port. The gf will flip. Look at all the troule she gave me with the 12 pounder and I do not even own one yet!
