That's all for this month for aircraft, our figures will follow in the middle of the month. There will be Napoleonic fighting and parade style Russians, a new addition to our SS parade range, Monty's staff car and a couple of other surprises. For those of you who have not visited our new website recently it's well worth a look as there are several older sets that have just been added to it, these may just be what you are looking for!

Best wishes The Gunn Team

Bristol Beaufighter

WOW230: The Bristol Beaufighter was a multi-role aircraft developed during WW2 and used by the RAF and various Commonwealth air-forces. The Beaufighter was well suited to the nightfighter role due to its size and ability to accommodate airborne radar and heavy weapons. The Beaufighter was also used in the anti shipping role by the RAF and RAAF in the far east.

Our version of the Beaufighter is one of the most famous examples, one flown by 'Cats Eyes Cunnignham' an RAF pilot who destroyed 20 aircraft and 3 more probables whilst flying in the night fighter role. The nickname was given to him by the British Press in order to disguise the fact that the British were using radar in their aircraft to track German night raiders. By the end of the war Cunningham had achieved the rank of Group Captain, he died in his sleep a few days short of his 85th birthday.

We have 2 x 1/30 scale Beaufighters available at the moment priced at $1100/£899 each, the price shown on our website reflects an additional charge for postage, if you require a more bespoke shipping quote please email us at your earliest convenience. This model comes with a free concrete style airfield mat as per the photos, any figures shown are for scale reference purposes only.

Nakajima Kate Torpedo Bomber

WOW227; The Nakajima B5N Kate was a 3 man crewed torpedo bomber operated by the Japanese navy during WW2.
Although faster and more capable then its Allied counterparts, the US Devastator and the British Swordfish, the Kate was already entering obsolescence as Japan entered the war in 1941. However a suitable replacement the B6 Jill entered service too late to fully replace the Kate and like many Japanese aircraft of the time, the Kate simply soldiered on until the Japanese surrender in August 1945. The B5 Kate saw considerable success during the early part of the war, particularly at Pearl Harbour, the Battle of the Coral sea and at Midway.

Our 1/30 scale Kate comes with a full interior, is decked out in an attractive colour scheme as per an original aircraft that flew from the carrier Akagi and also took part in the first wave of the Pearl harbour attack in1941.

This model has a wingspan of approx 49.5cm and is nearly 34cm long.
We have 5 x Kate's available priced at $999 plus postage, each one comes with free Carrier deck mat as per the attached pictures.

For UK and European prices please check out our website www.tomgunn.co.uk as postage rates will differ depending on where you live.

Halifax Bomber

WOW206; The mighty and impressive Halifax bomber in the markings of 'O for Oscar' flown by Paul Hugli RCAF, who was killed along with most of his crew in April 1944 whilst on a bombing mission to Germany. It was estimated that Allied bomber crews had only an 8% chance of surviving the minimum 30 missions over enemy territory required, if they were then be posted to less dangerous tasks. 'O for Oscar' is one of the best known Halifaxes from WW2 due to it's unique nose art.

The price for this hand crafted masterpiece is $1500 plus around $200 shipping and only 5 are available. Comes with free large concrete display mat to display model on, the figures and vehicles shown are for scale reference purposes only.

For UK and European prices please check out our website www.tomgunn.co.uk as postage rates will differ depending on where you live.

Caudron Seaplane

WOW181: A gigantic 1/30 scale hand carved Mahogany and metal aircraft which will be the pride of any collection. The Caudron G.IV was a twin engine bomber used by a variety of air forces including the French, British, Italian and United States during World War 1. It was built in great numbers by the French and used for raids over Germany.

Our version is the Naval variant, comes with free Naval Marine Sentry or similar depending on availability and available in an attractive cream colour scheme.

Please note the regular price for this product is $700 plus postage and packing. For UK and Europe please check out our website as shipping and prices will vary from the above. Model dimensions are approximately 24 inch (61 cm) wingspan by 14.5 inch (37 cm) in length.

Dear all welcome to our January Aircraft newsletter featuring some exciting new products. All our hand carved Mahogany aircraft take in the region of 60 hours to manufacture plus many hours of drying time. For this reason we only make small numbers of each model and every aircraft is a unique piece. For those of you who wish to spread your budget, please note we do accept stage payments where you can spread the cost over several months. If you require further details of any of the aircraft in todays newsletter please email us on welcome@tomgunn.co.uk.
We have just had a shipment of aircraft in and for the WW1 aircraft fans amongst you, then you will be pleased to hear we have several new and unique offerings available very soon, some of these will feature next month.

A very nice grouping of aircraft. Always have liked the Halifax and Kate, but the real prize is the Caudron seaplane. What a unique choice for manufacture. Looks beautiful and it is a true flying bird cage with it's truncated fuselage, twin booms and all that wire. What a beast!^&cool^&cool -- Al

Must have missed the Wright Brothers model :wink2: As a matter of fact, I think making some of those early planes would be big sellers.

Now, who wants a plane that reminds you of porcine qualities when you can have planes that remind you of “those magnificent men in their flying machines.”

Keep those WW I planes coming.

That's it! Two wings and a prop is where it's at. :wink2:^&grin^&cool -- Al
