Hi All,

I was out shopping with the Mrs. today and discovered a few stores where I picked up some items to create this little scene.
Inspired by the many wonderful jungle dioramas by Robin, Steve (Horus), Andrew (Manila Soldier), and K&C (to name a few):

A bit difficult to photograph but here's a few shots I took this afternoon:

Looks like you may have visited your local pet store or fish emporium?

Excellent pickups, I bet the salesperson had no idea what these were going to be used for{sm4}. Expect these to feature in lots more dioramas. Robin.

Good work Rob !

Yep you never can tell when you might spot something like these bits and bobs that really set off the display !:salute::

This one made me laugh. "Fish Emporium", love it! I told the Mrs. She asked me, "how do they know"? I told them, "they always know". {sm4}

She had asked me what I was planning (ended up purchasing the 10 gal. tank as well).^&grin She said that she had never heard that one but cool nonetheless. Scene two below.

Thanks Steve. Ended up with a tank, background, rock formation (which I love), and a few aquarium plants. Cut an existing mat to fit, and after a few hours, had everything in place. Really fun project for a Sunday afternoon. The pictures do not do the scene justice, loses the 3D effect. Got it in the kitchen right now but have to find a more permanent home (wife says I'm invading every room in the house). ;)

Had to bring in the Marines for Part II:

Not sure who the enemy is here, possibly the ones that are infiltrating every room in the house{sm4}. This one for sure is a keeper, even though it would look even better to see it first hand. Robin.

Really nice. Very atmospheric. I really like the rock formation too.

You're going to surprise visitors when they go to look at the fish and find the miniature battles instead ! :salute:: ^&grin^&grin

Wonderful places to shop WO. I've been searching for the classic 'underwater' Budda but they sell like hot-cakes apparently. ^&grin

Like how that cool Jeep keeps popping up too and the wee ladder is a nice touch.

Keep'em coming mate.....{sm4}

I'm tempted to fill it up with water. {sm4}

Thanks Robin, pretty cool close-up.

Thanks DK. Went to another store today in search of the Buddha; on website but no luck in-store. I'm guessing you mean the one with the resting head.
Ladder from TG and I think everyone knows the jeep well. Wanted a smaller vehicle for the scene. What I esp. like is the Marine with frog camo on the rock. Here's a closer shot:

One more of the entire scene:

I've really enjoyed working this aquarium diorama, sort of like a Zen Garden.

I'd not fill it up with water, your diorama mat would get awfully soggy ! :tongue:

I now have a new home for one of my favorite tanks:

Thank you all for following along and for the comments/likes.

That’s a fitting place for that iconic tank and the centrepiece for the series. Robin.

The whole diorama is well balanced and supported with that terrain and backdrop which is a beauty. Great effort Rob. Robin.
