Yo Troopers, finally finished the labels for the boxes for the sets Jeff painted, and believe me it was NOT easy. The hard part was getting the right paper, then trying to get the right glue so the ink wouldn't smudge, anyway us Hussars do not give up lol, so after 50 odd attempts, and starting to crack up Bingo got it right. I have showed one label the 18th Hussars, and the 7th Dragoons tied in new box, but tied them the Old Britains style being 1950s re-paints. Did not want to take the chance using the elastic Treasury ties in case they were to harsh on the hollowcast, but the others being recast 1990s tied them with the elastic ties. It was really hard work getting it right, but I am well pleased with the end result, its a secret like mummification it will go to the tomb with me lol, only joking guys.
Bernard.

Yo Jeff do something with the photo's mate, as usual there rubbish lol.

Bernard,
For an old and tired horse soldier, you do nice work. Still think you and Jeff need to go into the toy soldier business. There is a a gap in what is available in glossy troops that you could fill.

Beautiful work, Bernard,
those boxes look great!
Konrad

Bernard, seeing as how your old regiment still has a mounted kettledrummer, one of the last left in the army, it surprises me that you haven't produced one. It would make a lovely centrepiece for your collection.

Yo Trooper, yes I agree its on the drawing board (thats not a hint Jeff lol) When I was was in the QOH the Drum horse think his name was snowy was agreat friend of mine. One of my mates used to look after him so I used to see him a lot and feed him (happy days) so I am on the lookout for one, so many items and so little cash lol. Still trying to find Britains Centurion Tank as well. Not many donations being offered at the moment lol.
Bernard.

Bernard -- just wondering -- did you use the tie cards that came with the boxes == or did you make up your own and then punch the three holes necessary for each cavalry figure? And, did you use staples for the tie card?

hanks,
Dick

Yo Dick, used the insert cards that came with the boxes. The Old Britains re-paints tied them in with the cotton, I will be putting staples in them. The 1990s re-paints used the treasury elastic ties as Britains did. The cotton tied ones Old Britains just wrapped it around the joints at the end of the card, better if someone holds the cotton so it tightens, you can see it in the photo of the Dragoons, just waiting on Jeff to enlarge the photo's so you can see it better.
Bernard.

Sorry for the delay Bernard.

Jeff

Yo Jeff, cheers mate a bit out of focus but a lot better than what I put up, at least you can see the detail better, pretty dam pleased with the boxes as well, if I had a Trumpet I would blow it myself lol. ;) Just a point Troopers notice the way they are tied in, always see sellers tying them in the boxes the wrong way, they should always look to the right with sabre arm up, the modern sets with the elastic ties the double loop should always be on the inside hind leg, that way they dont move in the box so much if you have to send them through the post.
Bernard. :D
