Jenkin's April Wish List... (1 Viewer)

Now that's a well thought out list...

not collecting POA...except for Fraser's...I even like and welcome 1-2-3...

I love 6-10...

Mark...did I send you the pic of Beaubien?

hey mike, how's that diorama coming? yes, you sent me the pic of beaubien. thank's again!!!!

hi combat, will be heading to gettysburg next month. love that town:) do you know what the 63rd colours look like. i've seen the 78th but the 63rd has me guessing.

Make sure to stop by the Antique Center on Baltimore Street. They have a ton of toy soldiers including John Jenkins (closed on Tuesday). Also visit Lord Nelson's Gallery if you have any interest in French-Indian War books, paintings and reproductions.

My guess on the 63rd's colours is that they were identical to the 78th with the exception of the regimental number (LXIII). Osprey indicates that the officers still referred to themselves as the 63rd at the time of POA battle and "there is good reason to believe that they actually went into action with LXIII still emblazoned on [their colours]." John's website blurb on the 78th says something similar - he probably got it from Osprey.

I would like to see wall sections to go with the Quebec gate he has already done.

hey combat. yes, the antique center and lord nelson's, two of my favorite shop's that seem to have my wallet magically making my money disappear. dirty billy's is a close third. charlie tarbox is a nice little shop. after all that it's off to the dobbin house for good food and drinks.

to answer your question about the 78th or 63rd i'm in favor for historically correct. if at the time of poa battle the 78th regiment was carrying the 63rd colours then i would prefer john to make the 63rd flag. so i'm in agreement with you combat. so if your reading this john, make the 63rd for combat and i.:D:D:D:D:D

I got a message from John directed personally to both Doug and Ken...

about the Fraser's Highlanders Flags and their numbering...

"All their answers are in the book...

SONS OF THE MOUNTAIN... The Highland Regiments in The F+I War 1756-1767...

by Ian Macpherson McCulloch. Volume I

I highly recommend the two books in this series for anyone interested in the Highland regiments in the F+I war.

It explains all about the regimental numbering, why, when and how they were changed. Please feel free to let everyone know about this source.

I think Combat would really appreciate these books."

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike. I will try to find it. The blurb about the 78th colours is on John's website. So I'm guessing if he ever does it, he may go with the 63rd. Did you ask him about the red facings on the 47th at Quebec?

John's comments on the flags came unsolicited...

he mentioned it on his own...

if you have a specific question...

I would be happy to send it to him and relay his answer if any to you...
