So finally fixed one of my favorite figures. The recent winter SS Mg-42 Gunner is a great sculpt, but with one glaring error, he was firing an unloaded weapon! This oversight didn't seem to bug most collectors, since the figure is already sold out/retired, but I wanted to fix mine,

Luckily, I had an extra drum magazine from a FL halftrack MG-34, so some tweezers, a quick drop of glue, and voila...the figure First Legion meant to make!

What a good idea, I should be able to scrounge a Gurttrommel somewhere.

Nice work, HR! I skipped this one, but maybe will release a repaint as regular Heer.

That's more like it....
Was thinking of doing the same thing, just haven't found a spare drum mag. yet.
Might end up making one with epoxy putty.

I've already asked Matt at FL to release this sculpt in the Late War German section either in an all white snowsuit or in Heer camo. You should send him an email, it never hurts to let Matt know there's demand for a specific figure.

It may already be planned out, as it seems to be the norm recently that the SS get re-done in the Late War German line. It's a trend I hope continues, since winter WW2 is my favorite area.

The other option I was considering was stealing the belt from this W. Britains figure. The way the MG-42 is on this figure, it would not be so obvious it was missing a drum mag.

Speaking of late War Germans , I’m really hoping FL will do a “Battle of Berlin” series...
