They look fantastic - Monongahela fans should be pleased:

I have the Lt. Jenkins figure and I must say it is awesome! Maybe this coming week, I will a pic of the this figure in my diorama at work.

I really like this concept on the Collectors Club.

Everyone better order a Halkett set during the pre-order period so it gets produced or I am going to get highly upset! :D

Oops! I meant to say I was given the Lt Jenkins figure as a prize for the caption contest just in case some of you were wondering how I already had one.

The Halket set depicts an incident from Monongahela. I wasn't familiar with it until John mentioned it last summer: "Colonel Halket was hit and fell mortally wounded, but the Halket's family tragedy did not end here. Sir Peter's youngest son, Lieutenant James Halket, rushed to his father's aid and was shot dead on the spot; some accounts say that he fell lifeless across his father's body." (Osprey)

I cannot find the St. Francis Lt. Jenkins figure or the Club listed on any of the dealers' sites. Will that be announced soon by the dealers?

Just to clarify some of the questions; to "join" the club, all you have to do is indicate to your dealer of choice that you are interested in the first figure of Lt Jenkins.

That is it; once you are "in", you will be notified by your dealer of choice about the club figure/set for that month and you will either say yes, I'll take it or no, I'll pass on that one, ie, you are not obligated to buy every set that comes out.

That said, John will poll the dealers and get quantities needed to fill all the club member orders; he will ONLY make that quantity, so if 200 people want the figure/set, 200 will be produced, that is it, so in essence, if you pass on a set, you can't go back and buy it later on.

I like this system as you the collector are not locked into having to buy all the collectors club sets and can pick and choose which ones you want.

Any further questions, contact your dealer of choice; we were all asked if we wanted to participate in this program, can't imagine a dealer saying no to this one, but you'll have to check with your dealer as to whether or not they are aboard on this.....................

It has been suggested in some accounts that both Pontiac and Shingas were present at Monongahela......maybe one of them will make the cut.

Pontiac or the Half-King would be great. So far there haven't been any Indian personality figures. I gather one aspect of the club is that John takes suggestions from the members.

The only catch on this process, as I understand it, is that John has to have enough pre-orders to produce the figure or set.

I take it then that the minimum will not be fixed for every offering but rather depend on the figure / set being produced?

This JJ Collectors Club seems like a great idea. John will be able to present us with some very unique figures without worrying if it will sell enough for a release of 500 or 750 sets. We're given an entire month to preview, and another month to preorder it. No worries of missing out on a great set because you stayed off the internet for a day or two and missed an announcement, only to find it sold out when you get word of it.
The Halkett set for the Monongahela series is something a lot of us could use, so hopefully we all step up and preorder one and get this Club off to a good start.

I believe that a minimum WILL be set, and if that number of preorders is not reached the figures will not be produced. In turn , John will make only enough sets to fill the preorders - and that is it. That's at least how I understand it.

I just called my dealer and I am in the club. Easy as that. I called said I want the figure he said your in, I said I am in? He said done, your in. Cant be any easier!

I asked him last night, how many sets he needs pre-ordered.....before he reaches the "break even" point and will agree to produce it...but he has not responded yet.

I have heard in the past that most sculptors charge around $600 to sculpt a figure. Some ask less......around $400.

John sculpts his own....so there is no way to gauge his investment on sculpting a figure. I mean for him.......it's just time involved......not cash out of pocket.

I just can't imagine his disappointment (or mine), if he sculpted a set and didn't get enough pre-orders to cast the prototype.

If he didn't......I guess it would just sit on a shelf somewhere in Hong Kong and never get produced.

My only concern is that sets that I would want to make "multiple" purchases on would be in the collector's series.

I understood the rules to be that you buy one figure and you get one membership.

If you buy 10 figures you get 10 memberships.

You are then allowed to buy the next released figure in the increments of memberships you have purchased on the previous figure.

I mean...as long as the are "one off figures" or celebrity figures that I would only want one of......then I'm okay with that.

He did tell me that if he released sets that customers might buy in multiples, he would release them as "general releases", with no restrictions on amounts purchased as allowed by amounts of each members memberships allow.

So, i was glad to hear that.

If he released "firing lines" or "marching sets"....I would want multiple purchases.

I wouldn't want to be restricted to only one of these because I only bought one membership on the original Lt. Jenkins release.

I just hope the collector's releases are things like "flag bearers", "celebrity figures" or "one off pieces", because I will only buy one Lt. Jenkins.

Am I making sense?
