these are not retired pieces...who pays these prices...unreal....:p

As the saying goes Michael, "A fool and his money . . . ." I see the same thing occur for Wm Britian ACW figures. There is a seller that always has non-retired WB ACW figure sets listed for $75-$125 that can still be purchased at brick and mortar stores and other ebay stores for $25 - Go figure  And it doesn't stop there, the same seller also charges maximum shipping rates. These are good examples of why a collector should know his hobby . . .

Always suspected there is some shell bidding to make the going prices seem higher. It doesn't make any sense that a seller looking for JJ would be knowledgeable enough about toy soldiers to buy the products of a lesser known company, but not that they are widely available at retail prices.

I saw the same thing Mike.I can't understand it either. The buyers have to know about the online and brick and morter stores.I can't believe that the buyers would be that uninformed.

I noticed the exact same auctions, and like you Mike, felt very mystified:confused:

a shill promoting it would have stopped at retail right...

but you would think the buyer would have stopped at retail too...

uneducated buyer...gotta be...

or more dollars than sense...

Maybe its folks who don't know Jenkins line, especially with scenics. They could've seen what they wanted and not known the retail prices. To them it could've been a deal. Just saying.
