First thread from me over here I think!

I was wondering if JJD have ever considered having a bash at the Battle of Arnhem/Operation Market Garden? Although I do not own any, I have seen various JJD sets up close and the detail and originality of the poses and sets is excellent!

Just food for thought!

Thanks.

They are fantastic figures Scott. Anything JJ touches is gold. I am sure h3 would do it justice

I was introduced to their Jacobite figures and thought they were absolutely amazing. Almost connoisseur style!

I also love how whatever they release is accompanied by at least 5 paragraphs of pure knowledge on the figures and history behind the releases!

JJD do relatively little on WW2, with very few British, some nice and original RAF sets.
Arnhem is not of interest to me, collecting TS that is, but do see the appeal, would prefer some Paras for D-Day thou. I have quite a few K & C US Paras, including the 5 on chutes which are excellent.

Possibly with K & C releasing the Arnhem range it has caused JJD to steer clear, it is not as he has not got other eras and ranges or that he has not been busy and JJD now have an incredibly diverse range of releases, probably more than anyone else.

Personally, I’d just like to see John finish what he starts… Get out those USAAF pilots and ground crew the P-51 for starters. Some Luftwaffe pilots and ground crew for the BF-109s and FW-190s wouldn’t hurt either… And then there’s the rest of the Stug III crews that were shown a while back. I’d take all that long before more Arnhem/Op Market Garden figures since both K&C and Thomas Gunn have covered that campaign well. Just my two cents 😉

Scott, although I’d love to see John do them, he tends to do things others haven’t done or are not currently doing. I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

I agree, there are also some other pieces that we are waiting for, some WW2 Tank crews, I am also wondering where the established ranges are going,
Saxons/Vikings - these ranges have concentrated on shield walls, I would like to see some things released in these range that were a bit different and not just more of the same.
Rome - We are waiting for the new mounted figures.
Rome's Enemies - We have had few releases for a while and would like to see some new Germanic warriors.
WW1 - Has been a bit of a backwater for a while, not really an era i collect a lot of, but would like to see some new stuff.
Plane - it is about time we had a new plane.

Would also like to stress, i think the recent releases [last 2 or 3 years] have been incredible, they are, for me, the leading TS company at the minute.

John is not into WWII ... I bugged him for years, before I convinced him to do the Jagdpanther.

I discussed Normandy, Market Garden and the Bulge.

I thought we would get Allied stuff, out of the Bulge the way the conversation was going.

So far ZERO.

THE KNIGHTS OF THE SKIES
THE SOPWITH CAMEL

.......given the incredible challenges caused by Covid etc over the last 2 to 3yrs and the current economic down turn, I'm just pleased the like's of JJD, TGM and K&C have managed to continue to produce and release TS products when many businesses have gone tits up. :salute::

Agree, all three companies are releasing some great stuff and have been thoughout the last few years. Whereas many have gone, which people are failing to realise, many on the forum, they are gone or in their death throws. With these companies it is to many a bit like the end of a relationship, which they cannot accept it is over.
