JJD - London Show (2 Viewers)

These two guys are great addittions to the Clan cause...I really like the brown kilt and think the poses are really accurate for a Highland charge...

Gazza,

thansk for the closeup images of the JJ figures. Its great fro me to see the new BW Grenadiers as I've recently painted a couple of the resin masters, but hadn't seen John's masterpieces. I've got another to paint now, kneeling firing, so hopefully he will be out soon too.

I love the work on the kilts for the Scotsmen, they are a real work of art.

The British 1812 will go with any later Napoleonic Battle in Europe, so I expect a good run on then, and the forthcoming Artillery Gun team.

thanks for sharing them with us,

John

So who do you think this fellow is ? Looks to be American, War of 1812. Is he a mounted artillery officer or maybe Gen. Brown or Gen. Scott ?

JJ referred to him as an aide de camp...

so I don't think it's Scott, Brown or Porter ...

but I'm ever so rarely right...

Congrats to John!! I think of all the pictures I have seen of London, those WW1 planes are the best thing yet. Congratulations to you and your team!!

I simply love that French officer for Ticonderoga - it looks like we now have the regiment narrowed down to 2 possibilities, either Royal Roussillon or Languedoc - and my bet (and vote) is still on the former!
Whichever it is the future figures will, like Fraxinus stated, be useable for Quebec as well, which is a great bonus:)

The 2 new Jacobites (Highlanders Charging with Muskets #3?) looks awesome as well!

Thanks Gazza for the fantastic pic's

Niels

Looks like it will be Languedoc - Note the pocket detail on the grey-white coat of the new figure is the same as Rene Chartrand's illustration of an officer of the Languedoc Rgmt. The Royal Roussillon coat pocket flaps were horizontal with only three buttons. - Ken

Here is a short history of the Languedoc regiment and then the uniform specifics are described in the lower half of the text. The Languedoc Regiment was one of the initial formations attacked by the 42nd. A diagnostic distinction between the different french regiments was in the pockets of the outer coat -- the shape and orientation of the pockets and button combinations. You can access other french regiment descriptions via a few button links on the bottom of the page or try this link, 3/4 way down the page:

The original source Military Uniforms in Canada, 1665- 1970 (Summers and Chartrand) is a very nice volume on good page, 14x 12 ".
