jjDESIGNS 10th ANNIVERSARY (1 Viewer)

I don't understand why you would have resisted what with all the fantastic figures already available.

jjDESIGNS 10th ANNIVERSARY

The 10th ANNIVERSARY celebrations will be coming to an end in MAY!

To start the second decade of jjDesigns, I am pleased to announce there will be several exciting new series to come throughout 2017.One of which ”The Armies And Enemies Of Ancient Rome”, will be a collaboration between jjD and K&C.

More new series and Ancient figures will be previewed at the March London Toy soldier Show.

Any guesses as to the identities of the several new series to be released in 2017 ?

...American War of Independence.....as it seems a natural progression from all of the 18th century work that JJD has done so far...I for one would certainly be interested if that were to be a new series...

..or maybe something earlier than the War of the Roses......Bannockburn ?...or would that be too similar....

My guesses....
American Revolution concentrating on a specific battle which would be a great follow up to the FIW.
Conquest of America....early colonial events and possibly conquest of Mexico and South America.
Russian Revolution and Civil War as an extension of the WWI series.

Well, other than the ancients series I was trying to think of a conflict that may have a lot of colour to it that isn't being done anywhere else.

I did wonder if the first Afghan War may crop up at some point, particularly Gandamak. I did think second Boer War or Maiwand but it's a lot of khaki and I wonder if JJ is already doing enough khaki.

A leftfield one that would depict a country not often represented in miniature (post Viking) is the Second Schleswig War. If you haven't seen the Danish series 1864, then make a point of watching it. One of the finest historical dramas ever made for the small screen.

I know he already has an extensive First World War series but perhaps he will produce a Battle of Vimy Ridge series since April 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the battle.

Haven't a clue what might be next ..... But I would love to see what John could do with Samurai. Pick a major battle from the age of Samurai and go wild. I'm sure it would be an absolutely stunning series.

I've wondered that too 😏

I would really like to see John do something novel that has not been covered by other manufacturers. Maybe something like American Gangsters (20s and 30s) or some small battle like Bushy Run. I'm not a huge fan of the ancients but if John goes that way then the Trojan War is something that has oddly not been covered well. Some interesting possibilities there.

How about Attila the Hun, Eastern and Western Roman Empires, Saxons, other nomadic tribes? Bet John would love to do a bit of that and I know it's an interest of his already 😉😉

I would love to see an 18th Century regiment in campaign dress on the march with camp followers etc 2fbd59afd574cd0d3079129c3f418f31.jpg3b4419463a200a0fdeb2489643e16474.jpg058e5de7e56bc602bae6da05494e53c3.jpg07c62816faeb0addd837876c1a888675.jpg94baf6887335541721d38e688136a8f5.jpg

It's not like John isn't busy, but I wouldn't mind seeing his take on the Franco-Prussian War. Lots of color, great uniforms, and it sure hasn't been done to death. -- Al

The battle of Plassey......SYW in India......elephants, artillery, native cavalry, British, French.....very colorful!

I would love to see John to do something along the lines of an historical Dracula versus the Turks.

I throw my vote in for Conquest of Mexico. You can show two clashing civilizations, including some of the Aztec gods and so forth. It could be very colorful.

How about expanding the 7YW with the line he has already started. More line infantry, Artillery, more Austrian units, Hussars, Cuirassier, Dragoons, British, French, Hanoverians, Saxons, Bavarians, need I say more. Beautiful uniforms and Flags for a pleasing array of battles. What more could you ask for. John could master and own THE AGE OF REASON.

I asked John if he would produce some marching Prussians with standard bases and Austrians to oppose them. I think he is considering.

Very nice thanks for the picture, I hope he releases them and uses a standard base. I love the 2 new Austrian figures, Officer and drummer he released this year so he is working on them somewhat. Also I hope John releases the 2 Austrian Flag bearers that he has shown in the pictures with the 2 new relased Austrian figures for a full command set.
