John firth painted: The fiw (1 Viewer)

Does John Firth paint figures he himself sculpt/produces, or does he paint castings made by other manufacturers?

If he only paints his own, has he done any WWI or WWII pilots, aircrew and/or groundcrew?

If he paints casting made by other manufacturers, does anyone know a company presently making castings of 54mm WWI or WWII pilots, aircrew and/or groundcrew he could paint, and how to contact him to engage him to paint them? I would love to display some figures on my airfield diorama painted by him to his incredibly high glossy standard.

You should not have too much trouble finding WWI and WWII aviator kits Louis. In addition to what the others have already mentioned, a quick check of the kit sellers sites yielded these from Model Cellar for example. These are all resin though if you are partial to metal only.

And here is another one from Latorre models I think. This one is metal. And I know I have seen more so you may want to browse Mich Toy SC, Colorado Miniatures and Military Miniatures Warehouse sites. Good luck with your search.

Hi Louis

I bought one of the castings of a WW2 RAF pilot from Yeomanry at the London show last December. If you want I will post a pic of the casting at the side of a K&C RAF Policeman for size comparison if you are interested. I bought the casting but am not intending to use it now.

Cheers John

You don't need to post the photo. Just PM me about the arrangements, and then paint it for me to your magnificent standard, so I can add a "John Firth Original" to my airfield. I am absolutely blown away by the level of detail you attain on a glossy finish.^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool

And here are some more metal kits. All are WWII metal subjects from Andrea.

That is some well painted figures Paulo. The glossy F/I war figures have my attention. I don't have many other then the Redcoat series in gloss. Thanks for the nice pics. John

You're welcome John, always fun posting these and sharing.

These look like an amazing bunch of figures Paulo. Must've been really exciting to open them all up as they arrived at your place. More of John's excellent work on display. :smile2:

MD

Yes, both great figures and exciting to open. And also very nice dealing with John!
