Okay, I may be way late on this and hopefully I'm more accurate this time. I was strolling around MTSC's website and I found this. As many of you know I'm strictly a WWII collector but these look cool. I guess they were some collaboration with Frontline????

Do you gives already know all about these and if so, what do you think about them?

I wonder what they look like in person. Those pictures sure do show a greatly detailed uniform that has some real beauty to it. I wish I had the steady hand I once had so that I could continue to paint smaller detailed objects. I have to admire the skill that the painters take to make each piece identical to the next. It takes real skill and talent not to be bored and loose your sense of awarness as you paint these small features.

And again, it's too bad I don't have more money,:( I'd buy them.

When I spoke to Gerard and Howard at the West Coaster, they indicated that Frontline was picking up from Jenkins who had decided not to continue with their collaboration. I purchased about 6 or 7 of Frontline's new Black Watch and Indian sets at the show. They said British and French were following. They look great to me and I intend to buy them in Chicago. BTW, they appear to be larger than Frontline's 54 mm offerings, but whether they are 60 mm or not I cannot say.

I bought my first John Jenkins peices yesterday at the Michigan toy soldier show . I thought they were great. The new command set was awesome . I really liked his stuff he originally did with Frontline but, these are even better and are limited sets of 250. They are also 60mm and I've mixed them in with some of myK&C indians and they look great:)

John Jenkins Designs are no more. It would probably be more accurate to call all the new offerings Fronline Figures which in fact they are.

John Jenkins Designs is producing a eighteenth century collection on his own . Look on Sierra's or Hobby Bunkers web site. It is not a collaberation with Frontline but, an independant adventure of his own. It is not a part of the French and Indian War that Frontline is doing now.Look on his webste at www.johnjenkinsdesigns.com His first sets are based on Braddock's disaster as a precursor to the Seven Year's War.

Greg: Do the new figures match with the other Frontline figures from earlier releases. Also, How was the turn-out for the show last week? I got heat exhaustion and could not make it and my buddy missed it also. First one I missed. Leadmen (John).

I think they are a little larger than earlier Frontline stuff. The show seemed to have a really good turnout. I usually only get to see the K&C stuff at the shows since there aren't any deallers close to me. Matt from Hobby Bunker wasn't at the show due to a new baby so, his dad was there for him. I felt sorry for him being the only K&C dealer. He couldn't even get everything out . I asked him about the Jenkin's pieces and he asked me to set them out for him. I turned my back to look at the K&C stuff and the Jenkin's stuff sold out but, I was able to get one set though:) I guess I'll wait for Chicago or get them on-line if I get impatient:D I was able to hear some good toy soldier gossip though.

Thank you Carlos for starting this tread and posting the pictures.

I took a chance and bought 2 sets of the British Grenadiers, 2 sets of the British Line w/ Tricorne, and the Command set. I am so glad that I bought them. They are the most beautiful figures, for the money, that I own. I am now a huge (that's a pun for anyone who knows me, I'm a bit overweight) John Jenkins fan and I will be collecting what ever I can find of his work. I can not wait until he comes out with some new figures.

Where are you folks buying these ? Michael

Sierra has pictures of the first two Jenkin's French sets. The militia marines look pretty good:) I really like this time period . Now all they need are some canoes and Indians. I really liked the stuff he did for Frontline but I wish they were 60mm like these.

I saw the new French at the show I really liked them. Hobby bunker also had some battle of Quebec Rangers in a 4 piece set that I haven't heard of or seen on the website. They aren't due out until January so he only had a few sets. They are great figures.

Hi, these soldiers look great. I am painting some Barzso figures now. How much bigger are the John Jenkins and Frontline figures compared to Barzso? Thanks, Mike.

Mike, Unfortunately both ranges are significantly larger than Barszo's and probably wouldn't mix well. He is doing some marching and wounded poses for the British that hopefully will be out soon. I'm still waiting for his Indians which I saw a sculpt for on Sierra's website. I think he makes some really great figures.

Thanks, Barzso's set of Shawnee Indians are larger than his other sets and the French are bigger than the British. I would have like to added the Grenadiers to the Barzso British since Barzso Grenadiers have the the headpieces introduced in 1760. Thanks again, Mike.

It looks like Jenkins Indians and the British grenadiers marching are in stock at a couple of places. I really like his Indian sculpts he originally did for Frontline and I hope he adds more to his own collection soon.:D

Thought it would be interesting to bump this thread which was one of the first on John Jenkins. How time flies! This was nine years ago. There are a lot of interesting and informative threads about some of the John's first sets and the odd QR-01 back in the archives. What a great progression he has made over the years.
