John Jenkins Designs (French & Indian War) (2 Viewers)

Thought it would be interesting to bump this thread which was one of the first on John Jenkins. How time flies! This was nine years ago. There are a lot of interesting and informative threads about some of the John's first sets and the odd QR-01 back in the archives. What a great progression he has made over the years.

If only I hadn't seen these eight years ago (2007).....life would have been so much cheaper! (Sigh)

FIW, Jacobites, 1812, Sudan, WW1.....

only nine years ago... but that the good times! I started collecting again toy soldiers just when I saw those Grenadiers and tricorns sets on display at a swapmeet in Florence. Red Coats and Indian figures were a dream of a life.
Cheers

For comparison: Oldest pieces with the yellow tassel. Crown on miter not as refined on the yellow tassel pieces.

Completely agree with this. I had purchased a few of the KC figures way back when but it was seeing, pining for, and then purchasing the gorgeous 47th Foot figures in the POA range that got me completely hooked and back into the hobby in full-blown measure. -- Al

I almost waited too long to pick up the very first sets. I got the last BM02 and 03 at the Gettysburg shop. Was completely hooked from that point. I was too late on BM01 but a few years later John gave me one of the six master sets which sits in a place of honor in my collection. There were some folks who criticized the early figures as having caveman type faces but they held a certain charm for me.

I was surfing the net in Jan 2007 and came across a picture of BM-01, the rest is history!!!!!

I was collecting KC's Crusader line and I saw FM05 (Breaujeu & Dumas),wasn't going to get no more but saw Snowshoes range and wanted them.
