Even with the world economy in the pits this is really the golden age for TS.The realism is just fantastic and only getting better.

I understand that the Chicago Show is the biggest in terms of number of manufacturers and dealers.I'm curious as to which show is the biggest in terms of manufacturers and dealers being there - London, Chicago or the West Coaster. I am thinking of going to one as the Toronto show is very small and it's the only way to meet some of the Treefroggers and see product which I can only buy sight unseen online

I think me and Jeff are publishing at the same time - apologies for any similar images. But here are some different ones.

Couldn't have said it any better; just this past week, we've had a Stug III and Napoleonic Prussians from First Legion, three Hanomags and two Horsch command vehicles with Rommel and Pieper figures from Collectors Showcase and to top it off, the winter 88, prime mover, winter storch, firefly and infantry sets from Figarti.
Oh and did I mention the K & C dispatches should be hitting mid week as well and you all know Andy will be rolling out some beauties as well...............

Hi Terry
here is a quick low down on how i see the shows.
London - One dayer (always a Saturday) March, June and December.
no room trading.
There are ALL major manafactures represented and then we hav ethe best selection of single man business prduceders as well. covering all fields of the undustry. also i think a big difference about the London show is that ALL the tables are filled with different product
order of shows as far as i am concerned (as organiser) that are best 1, December (Britains members event the night before and K&C UK event on the Saturday night) then March and then June............although June is the best show to get a chat with the dealers and the suppliers.
Chicago - A one day show (Sunday) but there are up to 5days room trading. Although the best of the room trading happens around the Thursday through to the Saturday.
A great show for networking and meeting old friends and in the room trading a great show to find a missing piece that you have been looking for for years!
the room trading is great but more than once i have had the qoute that the show comes second to the room trading itself. I am even aware of guys who leave before the show, traders and collectors. Find that only issue on the show day is that there is a lot of tables filled with the same stuff. so room trading is where your going to find the good stuff
West coaster - One day show again with room trading.
Now i cannot comment greatly ( Steven Chong is definatly better placed than me) as i have not been to the WC. However on feedback from friends and collegues etc.
room trading i understand is lighter and starts a little later and the show is some what smaller with traders etc.
Steven is better placed as i say.
so it will greatly depend on what your looking for? in a show that is:-
London short and sweet but covers a lot of the basis and you can find some unique items. December definatly worth a visit from around the world, hundreds already do.
Chicago a great social show and contains a lot of Wows. great for meeting people and seeing old friends and spending some time with all.
London Saturday has to be the hottest i have known it.
How ever thank goodness they have aircon now!
Numbers for June are always down compared to the March and December show. All traders reported a great show and we at K&CUK had a 7% increase in sales against June 2008 so we are still moving forward in the ****ty economic times. and helps us ensure that the show continues.
i will be adding more about the show when my brain has caught up with my body!!

Thanks Tony. I am leaning towards the December show in London
Terry
Hey guys
book in for the K&C UK evening with Andy Neilson and the drinks and food ARE on me!!
tony
Hi Terry
Dont get me wrong all the shows are great in their own way!! however London at Christmas is a great place. So a great way of getting the family to come along as well. Also there is an evening event afterwards as well hoseted by K&C UK. Food and drink flows and we always have guest speakers including Andy Neilson. Last year we had two WWII Glider pilots who told some great stories.
if you go to Toy soldier TV see th elink at the top of the forum you will see some films under shows showing you all the past shows including December 2008 which was a great show.
Louis i have not forgotten and once you get over here we will look after you
regards
Tony Neville
