Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Rick for his generosity in sending me this superb AFV.It really is excellent and continues the great work Figarti are doing. The paint work and weathering are as you would expect very nicely done and it really earns its name 'the beast'.Its very weighty and will go very nicely next to Figarti's other Russian AFV's.The figures are also good and I would not want to be facing the machine gun on this monster either!.

Fantatic release and once again a big thank you Rick.

Thanks Al.:)

For those potential purchasers, the gun barrel moves up and down and slightly to either side.

yep looks great Rob but will have to go on the back-burner to much to grab before hand.............:D

Great stuff Rob - congrats.
I really like this piece but cant afford to head down collecting Russian stuff :(

My solitary K&C T34 could do with some reinforcements too!

Thanks guys, the Russian armour collectors are going to love this monster, its so well done.

Arising from the need for mobile artillery during the Stalingrad counter offensive And arriving in 1943 this really was a monster although it had it's disadvantages.
It's fighting compartment was cramped. It's ammuntion was cumbersome and this resulted in a slow rate of fire,it's armour was not impervious to the 88 although it outranged it by some way.it's big plus was the huge explosive power of the shells that could blow the turret clean off a Tiger. It had big success at Kursk destroying many tanks including Tigers and elefants with one commander destroying ten in one day.Apparently at Kursk they were good at ambushing and destroying Elefants.

It took out Elefants with the sheer power of it's explosive shell.the concussion effect of the blast would kill the crew and disable the vehicle without destroying it.The Germans were able to reclaim several vehicles at Kursk because of this. For this reason crews were ordered to continue firing on German vehicles until destroyed, bearing in mind it only carried twenty shells!

A bit like a British Firefly? ;)

Great looking piece Rob. Look nice with a JS2 alongside it (you know you want one :))

Just the same mate, only the firefly could do it with an inexperienced gunner!:D

I sure will be tempted next week, but it depends what surprise Clive has for us;)

Rob

I will hopefully get mine Saturday from Clive:D:D
Regards Scott
