Hello All!
Here is a new Shelf Diorama just listed on Treefrog Treasures called 'Just Outside the Village.'
This measures 28" X 11" and the hedgerow at the back brings the height to just under 12". A country road runs the entire length and the track way measures 4 1/2" wide so it should accommodate anything from a F&I period wagon to a WWII Tiger tank in the current popular scales from 1/32 to 1/30.
The rough stone retaining wall is pierced by a set of stone steps about midpoint with a path leading to a pasture beyond. There is a wattle fence peeking through on either side of the path.
This scene could be almost anywhere in Europe and even some areas of the early US. We have pictured it with several different figures for scale reference to assist you in envisioning it with items from your collection.
This 11" X 28" Shelf Diorama is listed at $420.00 US and will ship to most locations in the Continental US for $38.00.
These items are double boxed and are drop shipped directly from Hudson & Allen Studio to you. We would be happy to quote shipping to other locations.
Thanks for looking!

These images include an overall shot along with some close ups. Here we feature W. Britain WWII Fallschirmjagers laying down cover fire with an MG42 for scale reference. Notice how the Hudson & Allen 'Wild Grass' helps minimize the figures bases.

Great stuff Ken.

I can just imagine a flock of sheep wandering down that path. It looks very much like where I used to live in England.

Here are two additional images for you.
The first one features two W. Britain WWII Heer infantry preparing to move into the next pasture while a 21st Century Toys Panther G idles on the road.
The second image features a King & Country Heer patrol moving down the road and toward a village early in the war.

A final image of this Shelf Diorama. With a change of figures we make a transition to the Eighteenth Century.
W. Britain British Infantry with Colours and Music march toward the village... will there be more unwanted tourists visiting in the distant future?

Bingo !!! Just like home. Thanks Ken, great stuff and I am sure you are having fun playing with this beautiful dio!!!!

Hello All!
I thought I might post a few more photos of our latest shelf scenic. This first picture is of the base as a whole. I realized that we hadn't posted it pictured this way yet. The base is 28" long and 11" deep so as to fit onto a standard bookshelf.

The second picture is a close up of the stone steps and wall. This photo really shows how detailed the wall is and most importantly, shows what a good job our "wild grass" does at obscuring a figures base.

Hudson & Allen Studio: When it absolutely, positively has to look real!

Hello Ken & Ericka,

Can I ask are the stone walls from your own range? They don't look like the Britains ones.

I downloaded the sheep picture and am enjoying it on my desktop. :D :D :D

Hi Scott,
The stonework is not a W.Britains product. Ken sculpted the pattern many years ago. We use it for various Hudson & Allen projects. I am always amazed at what he pulls out of the studio's archives. We will be tossing ideas back and forth and he will jump up, run to a box in the corner and pull out a project that he started years ago and never got around to finishing that is perfect for whatever we were discussing. At this point it is almost a game for me just to see what hasn't he tried his hand at!
All the Best,
Ericka

Hi All!
It's time to push away from the bench for the night. We have several new scenics underway at the moment, but I thought that I should ask if there is anything you would like to see.
As always we are interested in hearing from the collectors. If there is anything that is truly a constant in this hobby it is the diversity of interest. From Classical periods to current conflicts, from stateside to combat environments each collection seems to have it's own unique makeup.
Any suggestions?
All the Best!

We are working on one right now Randy...I suppose it would be good for the Ardennes or North America...(read that K&C or Jenkins) but you didn't hear that from me...

Hi Ken,
How about some WW1 trenches? I would'nt mind buying some of thos if you ever made some?

Could I see these French Commercial posters on some buildings

Thanks

Hi Ken, Steve here, are your backgrounds for sale, how much would they cost and do you create them made to measure? Thanks.

Ken

How about a winter scene?

Randy

I second this and am happy to hear that you are working on one. Can you give us any advanced infor on what it will pertain to?? Also what is the time frame before it is offered?

Your artistry is definitely worth the kudos & the price. Looking forward, too, to any winter scenes that you may produce. I'm always on the lookout for scenes that can be used to create a proper Napoleonic Retreat from Moscow feature.:):):D

Hi There!
Ericka and I have just returned from a research trip including a few days at the West Point Museum. We are both back at work and playing catch up as we always have to do when we are away.
There are a couple of new shelf dioramas under way including a new Winter and a new Fall scene. I may be painting backdrops to go with these just to see how they would be received. I always like the additional depth added to the dioramas with the addition of the backdrop...but I usually keep them simple to keep the focus on the foreground and items displayed there.
As with many projects we can consider special sizes for specific needs, but as mentioned before we are pretty busy at the moment.
Always feel free to PM us with any questions.
Ken
