Ahhh winter and fall scenes, fabulous. West Point is one of my favorite places. I think most of all the cemetery. It truely is a who's who in military history. Can't wait to see the winter version

Hi Folks!
Well 'Just outside the village' sold last week and was shipped to the new owner.
We have a new one that we will post images of soon that will include a hand painted back drop. This was painted at the same time as the shelf diorama was constructed to help extend the scene.
Thanks for your kind comments and interest...fall and winter environments coming soon (it snowed here last night)...so we are in the mood!

The back drop paintings remind me of the brilliant work in the displays at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. They really add that kind of depth and openess. Really awesome Ken.

I am starting on a winter shelf diorama with a backdrop and I hope to have it done in the few weeks. It is pretty cold here right now so it is easier to relate to than summer scenes, although I wish that wasn't the case!
The first three winter dioramas we made were specifically for WWII, this one will be more universal so it can be used with other periods too.
If it stays as cold as it was last year, for as long as it did, I will be thinking about something tropical in about 90 days!
