Somebody posted on logistics of tanks..the idea of a model train. What do board members think of the idea of having a World War II German train engine made ...accurately as usual..with emblems and guards and things. Have a scaled flat car that one of the Figarti or King and Country tanks could be placed..And, the whole set up could we worked into a great diorama...For size purposes..just maybe a yard switcher and one flat car?...What do you think...impractical?...no interest?..I almost bought a classic German engine made by a professional modler selling his goods on ebay..but the price was waaayy too high and the scale was waaayyy too small. Anyway..thoughts on this??

The idea sounds great. I was at the Chicago Show this year and one of the things that I loved about the landing craft was how many vehicles could be displayed on the LC. So in effect, it was like having a display within a display. At the time, I was thinking how great some kind of troop/vehicle train would look. The possibilities could be endless on how a collector would like to build their display.

If the manufacturers could produce small runs, like Figarti does with their AFV's, it could be possible... expensive, but possible. It would lend itself to great diorama possibilities.

I reckon it would be a great idea,K+C had a small train in there "SEEWOLF" display at Chicago, went well with the SP29 +30 so a small train would be do able. But a large train would be better (shock and awe style)..........:D

Like this Train.

Thanks for all the comments and the picture. I found this professional modeleer (I need spellcheck) on ebay. He put together planes..tanks..ships..and individual 1:35 scale soldiers. His photographic presentation was mind blowing ..and, pocket emptying. He was from China. I purchased a model of one of the German pocket battleships..and, I couldnt believe that for the couple of hundred that it cost me, the model came in a soft cardboard package all the way from Asia. The model was way above average in quality, but the scale didnt register in my head just how small the ship would be. He was offering a German war/Nazi locomotive in his other listings..but, the price was as incredible as the photo of it. The models were from standard plastic kit manufactureres with added expensive strings..ropes..flags..emblems..grab iron railing, etc. I thought back then..how great it would be if King or Figarti could have produced one of these locomotives or yard switchers..with an attached car..rail/bed and fit it into an enclosed diorama with one or two German vehicles. I agree, the item would have to be a strictly limited edition ..but, just like Figarti's v1 and v2 models, there would be plenty of add on landscapes..special guards..ramps..possible station. The passion for collecting historically accurate military vehicles..and the existing passion for collecting all things rail, could be married together, here..and be somewhat profitable to the manufacturer and exciting to the afficionado. Maybe, I just dream too much. Thanks, again, for the comments....paul
