This figure is very well done! the horse is beautiful, the scout is very realistic.
He is carrying a Winchester lever action, which was present and coveted by the Native Americans.
But due to ammunition supply, and repair options, government scouts were always issued the Springfield rifles or carbines.
I wish he had one. but it's not impossible that an Apache scout would not want to use a gun he knew, and trusted. as long at the chief of scouts allowed it.
details abound. like the Civil war era shell jacket. very common even in the 1880's. gourd water bottle, skin cased bow and arrows, his face is also very well done!

if only the US Army sergeant didn't have that silly yellow scarf. any civilian patterned versions would have been better!
