K&C...60mm or 54mm (1 Viewer)

Hi...I know this not the site for this question,,but as it is a K&C site ...this is where I can get the question answered correctly....are K&C soldiers 60mm tall or 54 mm tall.....?....thank you Tomb

They are scaled at 1/30, which is 60mm. They are not 54mm, which is 1/32 scale.

K&C pretty much established that scale among new toy soldiers. Previously, toy soldiers, and military miniature figures and kits, adhered to 1/32 scale (though among toy soldiers, there was a lot of variation in the interpretation of "54mm").

Brad...thank you....I thought they were 60mm,,,but I dont collect model soldiers so I was not sure...now and again I make a few figures and have tried to stick to 54mm.....if K&G are 60mm that is the scale I will now work on thanks again

To be quit ehonest, king and country's figures tend to range from 54mm to 60mm, I have lots of recent figures which are slightly above 60mm too!{eek3}^&grin

arnhem44mad is right in that there is a varation between the 55mm and the 60mm in figures.

I have many older AWI sets that are closer to 54mm while the newer are "mostly" 60mm. It is important to remember that the height is not the important factor ...IT IS THE VOLUME that makes the difference. The photo that GUY posted points this out perfectly. Just because one figure is "taller" is of little matter.

As an example you can buy model ships in 1/700th scale or 1/350 scale. At first you might say that the 1/350 is TWICE the scale of the 1/700 but actuallt it is "8 TIMES" as large.

To prove this, take a cube that is 2"X2"X2". The volume is 8 cubic inches. Now take a cube that is 4"X4"X4" and that volume is 64 Cubic inches or 8 times the volume. That is why a 1/35 or a 1/32 scale figure looks so much smaller than a 1/30. It is the total volume.

Hight is relative. Most folks are between 5 feet and 6 1/2 feet so that is normal. Did I explain it okay or did I mess you up? {sm2}

Larry.......I am hopeless at Maths but I get the picture (message)......attch is a pic of my rough 60mm ( Blue) scale and two true 54mm figures...when I get around to do a 60mm...it will be slightly more bulkly than blue fig to get proportions right...or ..I could do it less bulky if choose to have slim fig's.......uhummm...something like that .....thanks for the post.....Tom

Ouch is right.....will be more carefull where I place my zero's in future......Tom
